Job 1: 6 ff “ One day the angels  came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.  “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. 

 Do you see the arguments in here- so if you don’t understand the intelligence of spiritual argument- you can never win. Everything else in your life somebody is involve- so beyond just making declarations- you must also master how to argue you case- You must have your strong reasons- Isaiah 43:26- says “ Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence .” In fact the King James Version is more apt, it says- “ Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted ”.  

Put me in remembrance of my word lets argue this thing out-  even when you were obviously disadvantaged- I am in Christ and Christ is in me-Christ is condemn already, was condemned on the cross, he paid the price- if he is condemn again it’s against the law of double jeopardy. Do you know what the law of double jeopardy is? A person cannot be tried twice for the same crime based on the same conduct.  For example- If a person robs a bank, that individual cannot twice be tried for robbery for the same offense. Nor can one be tried for two different crimes based upon the same conduct unless the two crimes are defined so as to prohibit conduct of significantly different kinds. Thus, one cannot be tried for both murder and manslaughter for the same killing but can be tried for both murder and robbery if the murder arose out of the robbery .  Now you are confused- forget all I said- Double jeopardy simply prevents a state from retrying a person for the same crime after he has been acquitted , so if  - I am in Christ and he is in me-Christ is condemn already, was condemned on the cross,  he paid the price- if he is condemn again it’s against the law of double jeopardy. 

Galatians 2:20—“ It is Christ who lives in me” “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me. ” and am intrinsically connected to Christ so I must prevail- when the spirit of prayer comes over you -aaah- the first thing it does is to make you a warrior- you will and must master how to fight—so the prayer of petition is on the premise of God’s word, it is a court room scenario- it involves presenting your strong reasons -

 Hebrews 11:13 “ All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.”

 So it is possible to live by faith and still die not receiving the things promised you and your generations- do not let this happen to you. Some issues are legalistic- and you must deal with them from that perspective. 

HOW TO ACCESS A DIVINE COURT-

Let’s go to court-

In 2 Samuel 21,  please read it on your own, I am just summarizing it here, there was famine in the days of David for 3 years- So David inquired of the Lord-and the Lord answered him.  In the answer God revealed that Israel and Gideonites had a pact or covenant 700 years ago in the time of Joshua- 17 years before this famine – Saul killed the Gibeonites-thereby contravening that pact. 

 Satan who is the accuser of the brethren now went to court in heaven saying, is it not you that had a pact with the Gibeonites  - how come Saul killed the Gibeonites and you are quiet  and it was obvious that God had a covenant with the Gibeonites-  do you remember back in the day when Joshua- was fighting to defend the Gibeonites that God made the  sun and moon to stand still in show of his commitment to covenants- so when Satan- came with that accusation there was no way God will not allow Satan the allowance to bring the needed judgement that is soothing for that kind of trespass- and even though according to the original promises the nation Israel was not supposed to be in famine and David knew that that’s why he went to inquire of the Lord- because the manifestation of that famine was contrary to the promise God gave to the people- there was a legality that Satan was exploring-

So you tell me- Have you found anything in your life that is contrary to the word of God that is not supposed to be manifest but you are seeing it find expression- you need to follow the example of David- the first thing he did was that he went to inquire of the Lord- that’s why I discussed into details the way of prayer and the altar, that’s how you inquire- and God said it is what Saul did that Satan is exploring-and using to punish the land hence the famine- 

One of the things we will need to teach the people of God again is the prayer of inquiry- how to prosecute the prayer of inquiry- do you know what it takes to ask God a question and get an answer? - what happened to the church is that our discipleship is not adequate- we make  a lot of noise and dance but there core issues of spiritual education we have relegated to the background  – 

So David went and inquired – this things that are happening here are strange to our expectation- based on the promises you have given us- Lord , what is happening? - and God revealed the context- He said  it is because of Saul oooh- the violation of Saul- has given Satan an occasion to bring this judgment on the land-so we need spiritual justice- the first critical matter you need to understand is what we call restitution- in a justice system this matter is very crucial- RESTITUTION - the restoration of something lost or stolen to its proper owner- for instance I stole from you and I gave my life to Christ -and 2 years after I gave my life to Christ- I now realised that I fall sick every month- so I go to God and I ask what is happening to me- is it not written that by your stripes I am healed- and he says oh my Son- the reason why this is happening is that you stole and you are still in custody of what you stole- you have been forgiven – yes- but no restitution yet- you also need to tell the person you offended am sorry-.... 

Catholics have a mercy prayer they- they call it-“confiteor” or I confess-   this principle is wonderfully captured in it- let me show you the prayer- *The I confess prayer, also called the Confiteor, is a prayer of repentance that is prayed at the beginning of Mass or penitential services in the Catholic Church. It is a general confession of one's sins to God and to the Church community, asking for forgiveness and intercession. It starts with the words " I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault,through my most grievous fault;  and it ends with I ask all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers to pray for me to the Lord our God ." 

You know- I have - I have heard people teach restitution and they taught it in the flesh- and the implementation of this subject has been in the flesh- meanwhile Satan is using my premise of the positioning of this that I took from him- as the basis for insisting that judgment must come my way- so if I know from the Lord that – that is the accusation- I restore this to him- and sometimes all you need is to say sorry to the party that was offended and restitution takes effect . Some of you do not know how powerful “I am sorry is ” said from a deep place of repentance and contrition- there are people who feel too big to say the words “I am sorry ”- Have you hurt some one- this is a good time to pick up your phone and apologize oooh- ayoo.
