PRAYER INTENTION

Ask the Holy Spirit to grant you the Spirit of Revelation

The second metaphor to look for are SIGNS-

ISAIAH 7:11ff NLT “ Ask the LORD your God for a sign of confirmation, Ahaz. Make it as difficult as you want—as high as heaven or as deep as the place of the dead. ” 

From this text we see that the scope of spiritual signs are as high as heaven or as deep as the place of the dead. We must learn how to interpret signs because the spiritual realm always litters with signs- as foreshadow to the coming of events. What do they say? Events casts their shadows before they occur.

You must read the signs accurately as they contain intelligence to help you do warfare. Most times when God furnishes a sign on your spirit, you can easily despise because it’s not domineering and most times it’s indicative- just like signboards do not point to themselves but to a reality or to a certain direction; not drawing attention to itself but to something else- as minute as that sign may look it may be the difference between life and death and you can become a victim if you ignore the sign.

In talking about SIGNS, I am referring to the non cognitive communications that the spirit of God makes available to us. Matthew 16:1-2 “ The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times ?”

JESUS is not enthused about this fellas, that they have the intelligence to read natural signs but cannot read the signs of the time- so He pipes up and tells them he will give them no sign- I mean why should he- when signs are littered all over the space.

  My dear friends- let no one deceive you- there are always sign- before a rain there is a sign- spiritual things don’t just happen.. If someone is about to die there are signs that are suggestive of that fact- when things have broken for a new day- there are also signs.  

For every event upon the face of the earth, there is a time. Our God is a God of season, sometimes when you pray and you demand several things from God, most times we are discouraged because we don't know how God answers prayers. The answer of your prayer is encapsulated within a certain season. And until that season opens you will not see the manifestation of the things you have prayed about even though in your spirit when you prayed you received the sign of peace- which was suggestive of the fact that the matter that you brought before God has been handled but in terms of manifestation- the manifestation of that prayer is gonna come when the season in which God has allocated that performance opens up. Our God happens to be a God of time and seasons.

And when the seasons open up- It litters signs on the spirit and natural realms, that a new season is about to happen. You must therefore learn to interpret spiritual signs that seasons have opened. Understanding of the current season will determine which instrument should be taken to the farm. If it is the season of harvest- you don’t send instruments for planting. That’s why you need to know what time it is, which season you are in and whether to start or pause, fight or take a break or else you will be partying when it’s time for war because you cannot interpret the signs. 

Our generation with this attitude of funfair and celebrations at the least provocation has made us lost the rhythm of things such as enliven spiritual senses that bring warning to us, so because the sounds coming in our days are not directional - we have now adopted the maintenance point of approach and unfortunately the church is now about customer care, management, and marketing. 

The Prophetic dimensions, casting present revelatory position is far- too far and Jesus observes and rebukes us for not knowing the signs of the time meanwhile we have all the tools built within our inner frame work to give us access to the indices suggestive of signs in the spirit and the natural.

Hear me loud that there is a working of God programmed in your inside that you must be sensitive about to as a watcher. It is at this point that I will like to introduce to you the language of the spirit in your heart or inner membrane- the metaphor for that is in Exodus 28:30. “ And place the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece of judgment, so that they will also be over Aaron's heart whenever he comes before the LORD. Aaron will continually carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart before the LORD .”

Let's dive into the sitz in leben of this text- In ancient Israel, when a decision of national significance was needed, the High Priest was consulted. Within the fold of the High Priest’s breastplate were the Urim and Thummim (lights and perfections). According to most traditions, the Urim and Thummim were a piece of parchment with G‑d’s four-letter name [YHWH] written on it. Its function was to serve as an oracle, divining whether or not the Jewish people should take a certain course of action, and was to be used only by the king, the Jewish high court, or a person needed by the whole community such as a general. When its services were needed, the Kohen Gadol would stand facing the Holy Ark with the questioner behind him. The individual desiring an answer would ask a simple yes-or-no question such as, “Shall we go to war?” The Kohen Gadol would meditate until he reached Divine inspiration. There were two gem stones- one is white and the other is black- when a question is asked, the Shekinah light will light one of the gem stones up- and if the white lights up- it means God says YES, when a question is asked and the Black lights up it means NO.  So the priest can be asking God a question and the answer is coming like that.  

Now this sensation that makes the High Priest know the mind of God, is illustrative of what can be obtained in your spirit. In the new testament the name of your Yurim and thumin is the INNER WITNESS. 

Scripture says in Romans 8:16 (KJV) that “ The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God .” If the Holy Spirit is witnessing in our spirit that we are God’s children, He will also witness other things right there in our spirits. The Holy Spirit will witness to our spirits and when the Holy Spirit speaks to your spirit, you do not hear an audible voice but you will know its the Holy Spirit. This is what is called “ the inner witness ”. The voice of the Holy Spirit to your spirit creates a quiet assurance—a relaxed knowing about something.

The question then pops up, “ How can I distinguish the voice of this inner witness? Are there any features that I must look out for? What differentiates the inner witness from an ordinary thought? ”
