" Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion "- Psalm 103:1-4
PRAYER INTENTIONS
In thanksgiving for provisions. (Food, shelter, clothing, air you breath etc)
If you are having challenges in any area of provision, begin to thank the all mighty provider who is full of providence, for meeting your needs already.
Remember just GIVE THANKS, no ASKING.
Our Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks. We thank you for all the graces and blessings, you have bestowed upon us. We thank you for the spiritual and temporal: for our faith and religious heritage. We thank you for provision of food and shelter, our health, the love we have for one another, for our family and friends. Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, we thank you for the continued graces and blessing you have already granted us throughout the coming year. In the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother we make this prayer. Amen.
What is the point about praising God? Why should we exult his name, in a world full of all kinds of uncertainties and evil?
Listen up- and hear me when I tell you- that Praise is a mystery of the spirit, it is a mystery of the kingdom. Just like we have other mysteries like MERCY, BLOOD OF JESUS, THE NAME OF JESUS, GRACE AND FAVOUR, ALTARS, MYSTERY OF SEEDS, etc.- PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING IS A POWERFUL MYSTERY.
Once upon a time -Jesus was faced with the two life giant’s, namely the lack of FOOD and the issue of DEATH, he didn't waste time ooh. FOOD and DEATH, this two will always take the children of promise from their promise land to perdition- hmm someday if God wills it, we may run a FOOD AND DEATH CONFERENCE. The mystery of food and death- someone exchanged his blessings and inheritance for food ooh. See I love to sit and observe how people behave when there is food, especially when it is serve yourself - it is the fastest way of seeing the true character of people, their behaviour towards food- even the way they eat, will give you a clue as to what they are capable of … Anyway, topic for another day.
So back to Jesus- he was faced with the lack of food. What did he do? He just gave thanks. In John 6:5-13, when Jesus was faced with hungry people. All he did in verse 11 was to give thanks. "Jesus took the bread, gave thanks to God, and distribution, started among the hungry" He did same for the fish. We are told they ate to the fill, 5000 men excluding women and children were fed. And 12 baskets REMAINED. This is what thanksgiving can do to your situation. Just giving thanks ooh. It is a powerful key.
Let me show you another one. In John 11:1-44, when Jesus was met with the death of his friend Lazarus. After the arguments and explanations and going back and forth... in verse 41 "Jesus looked up and said, 'I THANK YOU FATHER, I know that you always listen to me, but I say this for the sake of the people here, so that they will believe that you sent me". Take note, Jesus just thanked the Father ooh, no long things. I am teaching you a powerful spiritual principle and if you can grasp it, and use it, nothing, nothing can stop you. This a principle Jesus himself used, in facing this two important existential crisis, he gave thanks.
So David will say in Psalm 116:17, "I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord ." Let each of us seek to have an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving, rising to a new level of holiness in our lives.
Here are 3 ways to practice an attitude of thankfulness in everyday life:
Thank and praise God for everything in your life. Thank Him for even the difficulties. It is a sacrifice to do this, that’s where the sacrifice is- that you are in crisis but you are praising God. God can turn troubles to triumph. "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise -- the fruit of lips that confess his name ” (Hebrews 13:15).
Don't allow yourself to complain about anything. During the difficult times, be very careful to watch your tongue. Instead of complaining, think of ways you can verbally offer God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, Dance and Praise.
Don't compare yourself with others. God knows what is best. The Bible says having a thankful heart is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. When we begin to thank God for what we have rather than comparing ourselves with others, it opens the door for God's blessings. God smiles when we praise and thank Him continually. Few things feel better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else. God loves it too, when we thank him continually. As my good friend Rick Warren always says, "an amazing thing happens when we offer praise and thanksgiving to God. When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with joy. “
And when you pray your " thank you " prayers don’t just say it. Pray it from a place of FAITH and BELIEF- don’t pray it from a place of WANT and LACK but rather pray it from a place of SATISFACTION TRUE GRATITUDE.
Remember NO ASKING only THANKING🙏🏿
Shalom and God bless you
