PRAYER INTENTION
Personal prayer intentions
GENESIS 31:13- “ I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land .’”
So, the guy raised an altar to God- what is happening here is an encounter that has been occasioned by his altar- this is what we call the supervising spirit of your altar coming to you – you should know that every altar has a supervising spirit.
Now, because you are a Christian your supervising spirit is powered and sponsored by the Holy Spirit🔥. When you start a spiritual exercise, it is you that determines what you want to sacrifice- that okay am going to consider waking up at 11 pm at night and am going to stand before God and I will worship, pray and speak in tongues and this is a routine I will keep for the next year. The moment you begin to do that your thing- God is going to set an appointment date with you- because God deals with us based on appointments and seasons. Psalm 8:4, what is man that thou art mindful of him or son of man that thou visited him.
In Acts 17:26 the Apostle was speaking and he said God has made man of one blood and he has preordained the boundaries of their habitation and the times of their visitation - the moment you begin to register your sacrifices -God comes and with his own calendar and sets up a date of visitation or appointments which you are not aware of.
The moment you arrive at that date of appointment – and you will arrive in Jesus name- then the supervising Spirit of your altar comes. Since you are a Christian, the supervising spirit of your altar is obviously the Holy Spirit. This is what we have in Genesis 31:13, an account of a situation where the supervising Spirit of Jacobs altar came to look upon him. And the Spirit came and gave Jacob an insight so that Jacob will not forget the altar- that it was the effort of the earth that secured the visitation of heaven to him- notice what the supervising spirit of his altar came to tell him- " I am the God of bethel - now arise... Get thee out"
Do you realise that when the Supervising Spirit of his altar showed up it did not come as a friend - it did not come to crack jokes- it came to give instructions, clarity and a map.
Hold on, previously you were the one that determined what you will bring but when the supervising Spirit of your ALTAR comes - he becomes the one to give you prescription on what you should do- the game changes from becoming an altar that will be determined and run by you - to becoming an altar that your supervising spirit will determine and help you run and it is around those moments that he will come with instructions for you.
Now when the supervising Spirit of your altar comes- if you have not known God by experience or bible knowledge it will not help you because that’s where you will discover that- God is extremely jealous - in fact do you know that one of the names of God is jealous- just like God is love- he said “ that I am a jealous God ” I know you know that one – am referring to “I am jealous”-Deuteronomy 5:16- and these are experiential sign posts that you are going to bump into when you begin to relate intimately with God, and you begin to relate with the supervising spirit of your altar - you will find how sensitive God is and you will know that you need elaborate appeasement for you to repair your relationship with him quickly.
You know for those of us that still believe that our relationship with God is too important and comes first - in fact your supervising spirit will come to a point where it regulates the way you talk, what you watch, eat, drink, places you go and how you give - just in case you still want to keep the relationship and he will strike you at the heart of the things that you claim are your weaknesses- oh as for me I don't know how to forgive ooh - the supervising spirit will stand on that unforgiveness until he loosens you up.
In the past 2 years for instance, most of the prescription God has given me as sacrifice are more in the area of giving more than in the area of fasting- this is my own experience. Now don’t get me wrong - we have lived a fasted live okay but as we grow older we also manage that with the dynamics of health so that we will not be raptured before we are done with our mission here on earth- anyway lets stay that issue.
2 Sam 6:11-12- “ The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household. Now King David was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing .”
After this scripture I will like us to pray a powerful prayer. Do you know something-you don’t know so let me tell you- if you have a working functional altar and if you come into the open- and there is a sudden unpredicted danger that appears - you know that kind of danger that sneaks on you- and you don’t have time to process it in your mind- if that kind of danger breaks on you- you will know who has an ALTAR in that matter in that situation and who is naked because the jealousy of God is what will propel God to make an exception for you- see this God we are talking about the bible calls him jealous - it’s just like a man that is married and loves his wife to death- he is jealous over his wife – that’s the similitude of the intimacy we share with God for which people like apostle Paul now used the metaphor of bride and bridegroom to describe the relationship between Christ and the Body of Christ and the whole island of this affection is captured in the Song of Songs of Solomon. That book is actually a revelation of what happens when we begin to explore God like oceanographers explore the ocean- it is a deep affectionate hidden relationship that God is jealous over.
And Until you find yourself in an unfortunate situation you may not know how jealous God is over your life because of your commitment to tend your altar and operate under a Supervising Spirit of your altar-
And the Ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obed-Edom for 3 months -if you read the previous verses, the Ark just killed somebody and they were looking for where to keep it and they now looked and said if James dies it will cost us- if Amina dies it will cost us- but if Obed-Edom dies nothing will happen to us- so something that killed somebody they packaged it and without the man’s permission they kept it in his house and escaped and don’t forget that the last of act of the Ark was that it slayed a man- and the men that the ark slayed it is not that the men did something wrong ooh. That’s why I keep saying that God is not man and you will learn the ways of God when you tend your altar- you will now know how the person of God is, his values.
So the Obed-Edom guy began to study the Ark, he felt it was the right thing to do- to study the ark meanwhile they were looking for somebody to die and it was Obed-Edom they felt if he dies it won't cost any natural, communal or political problem- so they dropped the Ark there and mind you the Levites did not come to give him any lessons on how to accommodate the ark in his compound - it was Obed-Edom that made the Ark his altar and started the exploration - you can’t know God from the outer court unless you get close so the man started getting close- first day he spied the Ark from a distance and walked away. Third day he touched the ark he did not die- he said okay- so it’s not the touching that’s the problem - you know that the man who died when he touched the Ark- let me read it for you-And it happened that “ when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the Ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God ” (2 Samuel 6:6,7 also 1 Chronicles 13:9-12). There was something deeper in Uzzah than the touching meanwhile if you study Uzzah the meaning of Uzzah is carnal strength - using carnal strength to do Divine ministry and God electrocuted him-
But Obed- Edom touched the Ark and nothing happened to him, after a while he began to attend to the altar to please the supervising spirit of the altar- the moment the spirit was pleased the report was that everything in his household was blessed- if you labour eeer- note that this God that we serve eerh he is not man- so you might be doing something that is a thing of man and he might be totally irritated but when you notice his displeasure you deal with it quickly through REPENTANCE, you deal with that error through repentance, that’s where you will discover how powerful repentance is- one time we were trying to cast out a devil from someone - the thing took time- then I was illumined and I said Oga, this one you need repentance- the person agreed and while the words of repentance were still falling off the persons tongue the demons left.
Can we do 5 minute of repentance, He made the Ark his altar and when the Supervising Spirit of the Ark came he was blessed. Once he giveth thee power, power to prosper and God is a custodian of power there are dimensions of power that you will never experience until you have a vital altar.
Repent may be there’s a mileage God wants you to cover and you haven't because of sin or a kind of distraction in your space tying you down- you know in your heart that you have capacity for more but the moment you set up an altar- Satan will come to make you break your covenant; to distract you. Lord, GOD- we repent from not attending to the full demands of your altar that you have raised - look upon us with mercy and restore us.
