PRAY FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL INTENTIONS

1. Submit all of your life to the Holy Spirit. Any part of your life that is yet to be submitted to the Holy Spirit- Submit it now

2. Ask for an encounter- Ask the Holy Spirit to manifest itself in you.

3. Cry for a revival- for the fire of the Holy Spirit to come back into your life

4. Pray for the spirit of self-control- self-restraint-

ADVANTAGES OF FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT-3

TEMPERANCE - SELF-CONTROL - that’s a big one. Self-control calls for avoiding the path of least resistance, the expediency factor and practicing the principle of delayed gratification.

The Path of least resistance is what causes people to take the easy way out in almost every situation- they seek short cuts to everything. The expediency factor is when people invariably seek the fastest and easiest way to get the things they want right now, with little or no concern for the long term consequences of their behavior. Delayed gratification is the ability to put off satisfaction in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term.

People, organizations, marriages relationships and churches have been destroyed because of the lack of self-control. We have lost the ability to control ourselves, practice discretion & understanding and the lack of these elements is having negative effect on us, our generation and the society at large.

Self-control -self-restraint- see eerrh not everything is acceptable ooh - you step into people’s home, space, work place, people's parties, people's cars- please control yourself - don’t act insensitive to people- say to yourself- “ myself behave ”- there is a time to collect and a time to say thank you- Excuse me to say some people have become a nuisance when we see them we run because they are always demanding one thing or the other-

Self-control also means that you don’t just go around saying anything, at any place, anyhow- speaking can promote or demote you – even a fool is regarded as wise person when he remains quite- control your mouth and speak well about people . Do you know people were robbed because they could not keep their mouth shut- so you just got 10,000 dollars from a contract- the money is at home you won’t keep quiet – you are in a public area and you are talking about this to a brother on phone- before you get home- armed robbers are waiting for you.

Know what to say, when to say it- someone does you a favor which is not the norm, then you are going around telling everyone, instead of being discreet about it. Next time you won't get that favour again.

Self-control - your elders, your boss, people are discussing sensitive issues that is none of your business- instead of you excusing them – you are there – somebody picks a call and you see it is confidential- you walk away- self-control- temperance-

Some people when they see food and drink it is like a spirit has come to possess them- then they start misbehaving- some others will chase anything in skirt, even if we dress a goat in skirt they will chase - tell yourself- “ myself behave ”

Self-control- that’s when we know if the Holy Spirit- is Lord over your life- when a believer is going around boxing people, punching his wife and kids- then we know you lack the holy spirit-

People offend me all the time- but it is not everything you react to- develop emotional immunity to certain things- you finish beating your wife then you are now asking her- “ why did you annoy me honey- you I have temper now- why did you ?” You continue that life- it is God that is soaking your cane in spiritual kerosene. Stop it oooh stop it- wedding night you are already fighting- Parents already sowing seeds of discord among their children- in the same family- uncle 1, uncle 3, uncle 5 against aunty 8, aunty 4 and aunty 10- clash of the titans and our kids are watching-

Pray in the name of Jesus and say “ I receive the grace to control my self- knowing what to do- what not to do- respecting boundaries”.

Somebody gives you his phone to make a call , then you realize he has plenty credit so you finish it- Oh I like your watch ooh, I like your shoe ooh, can I borrow your clothing’s- covetousness- if your eyes see it you must get it, whether by hook or crook, you must get it- that kind of life- tell your self- “ myself behave ”

Anytime you see your self misbehaving as a result of the lack of self control, invite the Holy Spirit and tell yourself " my self you are created in the image of God, behave "

Fellowship- are you engaging the Holy Spirit? A visitor can be in my house and I will ignore him- that’s possible right? Same way some of us have ignored the Holy Spirit. How many things have gone wrong because we ignored- the Holy Spirit- marriage trouble, work troubles, family troubles, personal troubles because we ignored the HOLY SPIRIT. Holy Spirit cautions us all the time but we ignore him- we ignore the HOLY SPIRIT- and he is “ a gentle man ”-he respects boundaries- if you ignore him- he won’t push it- if he is not invited- he won’t come- have you invited the Holy Spirit into your life, health, church, marriage, work, your finances- have you given the HOLY SPIRIT permission to access your education, your business, your life?

Do you remember David will pray and say in Psalm 51 " take not your HOLY SPIRIT from me "- it means the HOLY SPIRIT can leave you if you show clearly you don’t want him.

Make I tell you eerrh, even if you are a 100 years- you are too young to master life- too young, do you know how old the universe is? When did you appear here on earth that you want to rely on your experience- what experience do you even have-?

Why won’t you rely on this ancient Spirit- to guide, lead and navigate you down life’s lane- Whatever you are going through- the HOLY SPIRIT can show you a way- Let me tell you again eerrh- nobody succeeds without the assistance of a Spirit. Either an evil spirit aids you or a good spirit aids you.

Am not talking about progress, most of you are making progress, but are you succeeding. To succeed is rest.

I repeat, nobody succeeds without the help of a spirit- Holy Spirit does not just want to be in you- it wants to work with you- walk with you- help you succeed and have a communion with you- relationship- fellowship.

Can you surrender your life to the Holy Spirit- can you donate yourself to the Holy Spirit- and say I hand myself over to you?- all he needs is for you to take a step back- and say Spirit of the living GOD I am limited, come take over- show me the way- Let the HOLY SPIRIT be your senior partner-

Let me tell you- anything good you see in my life- it is the HOLY SPIRIT in me ooh- left to me alone- I am nothing- nothing- the power you see at work is the power of the HOLY SPIRIT- I don’t have any power it is the HOLY SPIRIT finding expression through me- I am a sinful, mortal and frail man- I owe no rights over the advantages you see displayed in my life- it is just by the power of God- not by might- not by strength – but by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT- I am not a great man of God- forget that joke- it is the HOLY SPIRIT-at work in me as a result of fellowship.

Herh, let me tell you eerh, trying to figure out what is happening in your life- that’s how you get killed- why don’t you partner with the HOLY SPIRIT- am showing you a better way- you think you really have the power to solve your problems? You are a joker-
