Because the manual got lost and there was corruption every where- It was on the strength of this that God began to crystalise the new creation and had to destroy the old world with water because his purposes could no longer be found within the crucibles of the earth- this was what the preacher saw and lamented in Ecclesiastes 1:2 - that vanity upon vanity- all is vanity. Some other versions will say “Meaningless! Meaningless!”says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”

What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. All things are wearisome, more than one can say. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them. I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind. What is crooked cannot be straightened; what is lacking cannot be counted. Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief

This was a lamentation that the preacher sustained in the book of Ecclesiastes, and some of you are also sustaining this lamentation because of what life has done to you- or what you did to life. - nothing makes sense to you, so you give up and settle for mediocrity - that's why when we were running the Holy Spirit conference - we said the Holy Spirit comes to renew the face of the earth, it is a crucial ministry of the Holy Spirit-

But in this scenario the governor with the manual for the creation was gone, so now men could lie with me- women with women- animals with human - all- brother killing brother, father killing child, all levels of wickedness.

Let me take you back to Genesis - having known this principle of vanity, mundane and meaninglessness as a result of the withdrawal of the Holy Spirit- Noah then decided to intercede and it took clean creatures from the ark- CLEAN CREATURES- the mystery of exemption preserved them- and he made a sacrifice to God- as captured in Genesis 8:20 that “Noah built an altar to the LORD; he took one of each kind of ritually clean animal and bird, and burned them whole as a sacrifice on the altar. NRSV puts it this way-then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.”

Now we have to investigate what the bible means by CLEAN CREATURES because as at this time- Moses had not yet come with his own taxonomy and classification of creatures into clean and unclean - Taxonomy simply means the practice and science of categorization or classification.

But hold it, tell me- how did Noah even- know that there were creatures that were clean and unclean? Because by now it should still be a mystery that by the mystery of redemption some creatures were not affected by the fall-namely- their manual- their purpose was retained for them- the way they were designed to operate- was preserved – no aberrations.

This manual getting lost - that's why aberrations, challenges, problems, curses have found their way in lives, families and our world. And the only purposes sustained in a visible creation was vanity - upon vanity- meaninglessness because the Holy Spirit had left and the manual that revealed the true purposes of things got lost.

So the only way you can find your centre of gravity and stability with respect to purpose is when you find Christ and make him your beach head.

So this intercessor called Noah, was trying to find a common ground of possibility, stability and growth in the midst of the fall and chaos. So when he sacrificed the clean creatures what he was saying to God was- I don't know- what you did or put on this animals to exempt them- however I am are sacrificing them so that you can make life sustainable upon the earth - and It was in response to that intercession that God said in Genesis 8: 21-22- “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.”

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease .”

As long as the earth remains those were the valuables that he decided to hold constant - so that the life of humans under the sun can have a predictable possibility in his future. As long as the earth remains - cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease time and harvest...

Now if we were to dwell on that phrase- as long as the earth remains – you will come to realise that- from elementary geography the reason for seasons, planting or harmattan is because the earth is revolving around the sun and the reason for day and night is because the earth is revolving on its axis. So, the preacher said - cast your bread on the waters and if the revolving process continues - you will find it after many days.

Now here is the punch line. When you come to the New covenant in the New Testament- the subject of sowing and reaping is taken to another level because in the New Testament, there are only 2 possible places to sow- in the FLESH or in the SPIRIT. And when scripture says cast your bread upon the water - bread is what you are to eat, it is for sustenance and now you are to cast it on water.... So there is sacrifice happening here... And the symbolism of water- remember I told you during the Holy spirit Conference that water is symbolic of the Holy Spirit.

So the wise know that this phrase means keep SOWING your RESOURCES, TIME, SPIRIT, ENERGY ⚡ in the SPIRIT because you will find it, after many days. You have been sowing in the spirit for the past 54 days, the past 20 years, the past 10 YEARS, past 51 days…..the preacher says as long as the revolving process continues- you will find it after many days.
