FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS...

Jesus now gets to a very sensitive part of his prayer. FORGIVENESS. There are many revelations about this sensitive aspect of prayer and if we do not take our time to understand the issues we may not be able to excel in our prayer life.

Let me begin by saying that one of the highest form of giving in the spirit realms is not MONEY- but FORGIVING - forgiveness is one of the highest form of giving- and scripture says in Luke 6:38- that “ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you ”

Do you realise that in this particular scripture what to give is not made mention of…and there is a reason for that- it is us who always want to insert money there

…but suffice to say, one of the highest forms of giving is forgiveness. Now let’s itemise some matters arising from this prayer phrase- “ FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS ”

·     All men and women are human. They fail and they grow weary.  Isaiah even attest to this when he says in Isaiah 40:30 “ Even youths shall faint and grow weary, and young men shall fall exhausted… ” so this is a revelation- that humans grow weary, weak and faint- So Jesus is planting in his disciples and by extension us- a revelation that we are in the world of humans and the best of all humans are still human.

The best of every -husband, wife, business man, pastor, priest, pope, deacon, elder, politician, all kinds of people are still human; and somewhere on your journey in this LIFE- an occasion will arise as a result of their humanity where you will need to communicate forgiveness.

Forgive us our debts as we ourselves forgive our debtors -chain reaction- this is the one area where everyone is involved, both the one praying and those listening. Forgive us- meaning as you live in this world, this is not just a prayer issue, it is a revelation that you got to live with the consciousness that all men and women are human, so let the propensity for forgiveness be ever there in your life.

I can't believe it, how could you do this, believe it ooh, the earlier the better, hurt is part of the human reality, hurt from people who are supposed to know better and are close to you, is part of the human reality.

Be ever ready to communicate FORGIVENESS because you will be hurt by everybody- including those you love the most, and the higher you rise, the more there will be the need to communicate this mystery, living a life without forgiveness will bring to you a life of sorrow and eventually you will be the only one standing, the chances that everybody around your life will offend you one day is 100% regardless your spiritual growth.

Once upon a time- Jesus entered the temple when people were misbehaving and he came with a whip, he could have reported to the authorities, why did he take the law into his own hands. If you were the current IGP and word gets into your ear, won't you arrest Jesus?

Daniel went to pray, morally he did nothing wrong, but he offended the code of conduct, namely “ do not pray ”. 

Listen up- offence has nothing to do with being bad or evil. Offence is a difference in perspective or values.  You may have a Muslim security man and on a Friday, at his prayer time, you come in blowing the horn of your car and he is no where to be found, finally he appears and tells you that he was praying- meanwhile while you are outside of your own gate waiting -you are debating what to do with him.

But the reality check is that he is a very sincere man- only this time you came in on a Friday at his prayer time- he has done nothing morally wrong - he just offended you- a difference in perspective- and that makes forgiveness painful. That's why Jesus took out time to talk about this aspect of giving.

Forgiveness is one of the highest form of offering or giving...  forgiveness is giving. Forgiveness is a profound truth of spiritual maturity, you will need it whoever, wherever you are.  Sooner or later you will get to a point where you will need to communicate forgiveness to your husband, wife, children, leaders, relatives and friends.

Cheated in business, betrayed by family and church folks, backstabbed politically, betrayed in marriage, maligned by people you trusted and taken advantage of by others. This is the world of humans that Jesus is talking of...

Some of you have concluded based on a couple negative events you encounteres that all men or women or humans are wicked, evil or cruel. So you begin to say things like “ Devil's, I don't need any man, or woman or person, they are all the same, ” 

Abeg, Jaree- take it easy... GOD still uses humans, you heard- despite everything he still uses humans and he can use your enemies self to bless you-, He can use your Egyptians who oppressed you for 430 years to bless you- so please GUARD your HEART, protect your boundaries but keep your options opened.. 

For some of you it is preachers like me you hate.. You see any preacher man on stage, then you are angry and you begin to curse him/her, before you even have a chance to know him or listen, that's how they come and steal our monies .. That man can preach like the other one who raped me who offended me... That's exactly how they are, they are alm fake... take it easy, easy, easy. jaree. we still have some good fellas out there…

Look I bring you the word of the Lord today... It is important for you to maintain an allowance for every human spirit... Don't just receive forgiveness, communicate it- it is a one of the highest form of giving-
