Abstract Shoe

I tried to get the exact view of my shoe and all of the creases and how the shoe laces folded. I wanted to do a very bold orange, yellow color and do the outline of my shoe in white gel pen to make it stand out and pop. this art connects to my life because it involves two of my favorite colors, mustard yellow and electric blue. I used the electric blue to create butterflies that covered half of my shoe.

For my project I used a big thick piece of paper, tape, white gel pen, black gel pen, blue gel pen, acrylic paint, ruler, and a pencil with eraser.

During the process of creating my art work I had to experiment with many different types of gel pens and layers of acrylic paint. My project evolved as I added layers of acrylic paint and then gel pen and it really all came together when I took the tape off the borders. My next step would have been to definitely get a more pigmented gel pen because mine didn't work to well on top of the acrylic paint.
