Artist Statement

Bored

The main idea in this project was that I wanted to use lines to create a bored expression. I chose the color red even though it doesn’t really go with the human emotion but I thought it was bold and would bring attention to the lines in my work. The materials I used to create this work were alcohol markers, black pen, pencils, and painters tape to protect my borders. The process I used was simple. I thought about the bored expression I could put on a cartoon like face but also tie in the colors of red that I used. First I outlined everything in pencil and protected my borders with tape then I started filling everything in with alcohol markers.
