Artist Statement

Sadness

The main idea that guided this piece was that I really wanted it to portray the emotion of sadness. I did this by doing my work all in shades of blue and I also did this by adding tear drops and swirly shapes. I do really wish though that I used a stronger blue for the background because right now it looks washed out. This work was made with watercolor pants, markers, and thin black pen. the process I used mostly consisted of me using the same color or the same color them so it could really show the emotion I was going for. I also outlined everything in color and then went over it in a thin black pen so the pen would stand out a lot.
