Artist Inspired

some of the ideas that are visually evident in my work are definitely my two inspiring artist, Jan Van Eyck and Edgar Degas. I put a dancer in my work to represent Degas and some 15th century flemish art colors and castles to represent Jan Van Eyck so i tried to do a lot of darker kinda colors. this project relates to my life because it is part of my midterm and an assignment from my foundations of art class. this project also relates to my life because Edgar Degas is one of my favourite artists. the materials I used to make my project were oil pastels, light pencils, thick paper, a ruler, and painters tape so my oil pastels wouldn't smudge onto my border. I started by making my border with a ruler and a pencil I then put painters tape around my border and started sketching my ballerina and background I then added my oil pastel. my project evolved as I started adding colors and my pencil lines disappeared. I think my next step would have been to add more of a background and more things from the 15th century.
