Collage

8.5x11

Ideas that are visually evident in my work is that I wanted the painting of my collage to be simple which is why I did like doodles of the things in my collage. Another thing that’s visually evident in my work is that I wanted it to be very colorful so I tried to use every color I had in my watercolors. My project relates to my life because when I was picking out the photos to put in my collage I only really picked the ones that stood out to me.

My work was made with magazines, printer paper, and a glue stick to create the collage, then I used sketchbook paper, watercolors, black gel pen, markers, and pencils to create the painted version of my collage. I only used the markers to fill in small details that I couldn’t with the watercolors. I used the black gel pen to outline everything.

The process I used to create my work was like a puzzle because when making my collage I had to keep playing with the cut-up pieces until they fit perfectly on my paper, another thing I learned was that you should double-check before you glue things down. I think my project evolved as I started gluing things down and then when I made my watercolor. version and started outlining everything. I think my next steps could have been to add more materials so I could have different textures.
