Artist Statement

Give Life

The ideas that drove this work was I wanted it to be more of a cartoon looking heart and make it different shades of red with bold black outlines and a lighter, patchier black background. I also wanted the second background to be a strong bright blue so the metallic silver letters would stand out more. The materials I used to create this work was watercolor, watercolor paper, pencil, tape, alcohol markers, acrylic paint and sharpie marker. The process I used for this project felt like it had a lot of steps because I had to meet border requirements but I had already did my original work. Because of this I had to put my original work on a different paper and create more of a background.
