Scratchboard

8.5x11

Some ideas that are visually evident in my work is that I tried to do a lot of detail. You can see this in my work because of how I made so many little marks to make my background really look like pavement and my driveway. Another thing that is visually evident in my work is that I spent a lot of time and was patient because I wanted to make I didn’t scratch too much off. My project relates to my life because its a picture of a drawing I did in chalk on my driveway. This project also relates to my life because it is one of my favourite projects we have done all year.

My work was made using scratchboard, scratchboard tools, a pencil, a ruler, a picture on my phone as a reference, and tape to put around my border while I worked.

I experimented with the scratchboard tools on my value strip before I started on my final draft. Before doing my final draft I also sketched out the big parts of the picture in pencil on the scratchboard. My project started to evolve as I got farther down the page and the picture started to form. I think my next steps could have been to try and make it more realistic.
