Artist Statement

Cheery

My main idea for this piece is that I wanted it to look cheery, happy, and sunny. I did this by using magazine cutouts for most of my facial features and I used cheery things like flowers and strawberries in my work. I also used a sunny yellow paper as my background to give my work a cheery look. The materials I used were magazine pieces for the facial features and some of the flowers. I drew and cut out the strawberry and other flowers. I also drew the rest of the face with a black paint marker. My process for this work didn't take as long as it did for the other ones because I incorporated magazine pieces as facial features and drew the rest.
