Artist Statement

Lips

The main idea that guided this piece of work was that I wanted to choose an object that had clear structure and bigger features so it was easier to draw the dimensions and figure out the shadows. I also just really wanted to stick to graphite when I was doing this work because I thought it would be the easiest to work with. To create this I just used graphite and blended it with a tortillion to make the shadowing. My process while creating this was just really focusing and trying to get the shadowing and dimensions right which was really hard for me.
