Save A Loved One

Ideas that are evident in my work is that I wanted to use bright colors because the subject can be seen as sad and I thought making my work dark and gloomy wouldn’t look as good. Another idea that is evident in my work is that I wanted to create a font that would be eye catching and draw attention. This project relates to my life because at some point I'll make the decision about organ and tissue donation too.

This work was made with pencils, colored pencils, a ruler, black gel pens, and painters tape to protect the borders of my paper.

To create my art I started off by sketching out my idea because I knew I wanted a unique font and lungs behind my font in the background to stand for organ and tissue donation. After I finished my sketching and I knew how I wanted it to look I went over everything in black gel pen and then I colored everything in with colored pencils. My project definitely started to evolve as I added color and outlined the lungs and the font in black gel pen. I think my next steps could have been to color first and then do my outlining because I think the pen lines didn’t look as bold after colored pencil went over them.
