Rollercoaster of Emotions

Ideas that are visually evident in my work is that I wanted it to be very chaotic to represent Bipolar disorder which is why I chose a rollercoaster to represent this mental illness in my work. I think the rollercoaster is a good representation of how bipolar disorder is living with high highs and low lows. This project relates to my life because mental health has always been a big part of my life and a big part of the world and I like learning more about it.

My work was made with mostly watercolors and markers but I also used black gel pens and white paint markers for my letters and details. I used painter's tape to mark off my borders and keep them clean.

Some processes that I experimented with while making this work I started off by doing a rough sketch of my idea and then I went over it in watercolors, once that dried I started making details with markers and gel pens. I also did a lot of outlining with gel pens and paint markers. My project definitely started to evolve as I added outlines with gel pens and paint markers. I think my next step could have been to make it bigger.
