Time Capsule Drawings
The look I was going for was very simple and minimalistic which is why I did all of my time capsule drawings in black and white with no real background. All my time capsule drawings have a connection to my life. My self-portrait relates to my life because it’s a drawing of myself. The drawing of my waterbottle relates to my life because it’s an object that I use every day and very often. And finally, my last drawing was an old grandfather clock that relates to my life because it is a family heirloom.
The materials I used to create my time capsule were a fine point black pen to darken my lines, I also used a mechanical pencil to make my first lines and sketch out my drawing, and for the paper, I used drawing paper that I got from art class. Since I wanted my drawings to look very simple and minnimalistic I used very few materials.
For my time capsule drawings, all of them involved me looking at an object to draw it, especially my grandfather clock I couldn't really visualize it like I possibly could have done with the drawing of my water bottle. For my self-portrait, I had to look in a mirror the whole time because I couldn't visualize certain details or parts of my face. My project evolved by making my lines darker. From sketching with my pencil to making final lines with my fine point black pen and then erasing my pencil lines. I think my next step could have been to add shading and shadows to my drawings.
