The main idea that guided my work was that I really wanted it to have a somewhat abstract look to it and I wanted to make sure that you could really see where I carved the eye and wrinkles in the clay. I also wanted my work to have other elements to it which is why I added silver wire to my work, I wanted the silver wire to give my work more figure. My work was made primarily with clay and clay/ sgraffito tools. The other materials I used were acrylic paint, sharpies, super glue, silver wire, and wire tools. The processes I went through to make this work included making tablet like bricks out of air dry clay and then carving into them to create the eye. I then went over the tablet with watered down acrylic paint. After that, I went over the carving with a darker sharpy to make them darker and more defined. Lastly, I added a wire border and added wire spirals.
