Sunshine and Butterflies

Some ideas that are visually evident in my work is that I wanted it to look very colorful and chaotic, I wanted a lot to be going on in my work which is why I used so much color and made designs on my work with white paint pens and black gel pens. My project relates to my life because I think it represents how my brain feels sometimes with everything going on.

My work was made with a pencil, a ruler, watercolors, a white paint marker, black gel pens, and painters tape to protect my border when I was doing my work. I also created this work in my sketchbook because I wanted it to be a little smaller than my other work.

When I was creating my work I experimented with how much pigment I could get from my watercolors and I also tried to outline some of the details in my work with a black gel pen to make them stand out. My work definitely evolved as I added different colors and then started outlining things in white paint marker and black gel pen to make certain parts stand out. I think my next steps could have been to make my work bigger and add more things in my painting like plants or something so go with the butterflies.
