Fairy
Some ideas that are visually evident in my work is that I wanted it to be bright and and have more bold colors that really stood out to me. I also wanted there to be things like big mushrooms in the background to help show the size of the fairy compared to something like a small plant in the forest. I made it so it looked like the fairy was collecting small fruit and acorns and putting them in this little basket in the middle of the forest. This project relates to my life because it’s the same project I did last year in my foundations of art class so i could definitely see the difference in my work and my improvement.
I used a lot of materials for this project so I could get the small details but also have vibrant colors. I used oil pastels, colored pencils, pencils, a ruler, painters tape, and watercolors. I made sure to use painters tape to tape of my border so nothing bled onto it and it stayed white.
The process I used to create this project was starting by sketching my ideas with a pencil and then going over everything except the sky with oil pastel and then for the sky, I used watercolors. My project definitely started to evolve as i put more color on the paper and decided which colors would look good together. I think my next steps could have been to put more time into the fairy and make her more detailed.
