Henry was born about 1260 and probably the son of Henry de Tildenn.
A 1312/3 real estate transaction says that Henry de Tyldenne had a wife named Alice and mentions his sons John and William.

Henry de Tyldenne and his wife Alice sold two houses & lands in Hollingbourne, in the Hundred of Eyhorne, 5 Edward II (1312/3) : item 174. At "Westminster, Octaveof the Holy Trinity A ^—Betw. John de Moreston' and William de Houkynge pits., and Henry de Tyldenne and Alice his wife defts., of 2 mess., 19 acr. land, 35 acr. past., 9 acr. wood, 4s. 7p. rent, rent of 6 hens and 20 eggs, and two parts of a mill, with appurts., in Holyngburn'. Henry and Alice grant to John and to the heirs of his body; but if none, then after his death to remain to William and to his heirs. They receive for the concession 20l. Endorsed:—" Elena, who was the wife of Richard atte Holemelle, asserts her claim,"&c.John, son of John Geryn, of Holyngburne, asserts his claim," &c.
He is also said to be the father of: Walter de Tyldenne (who together with his alleged father Henry and alleged brother John, heads the list of landowners in Maidstone Hundred in the Lay subsidy of 1334/5.

These three sons were three largest landowners in Maidstone Hundred according to the Lay Subsidy of 1334/5:
The 1613 memorial at S Giles, Wormshill mentions Henry having a different (second?) wife, who was the mother of his son William:
" ... Sir Henry Tylden, married Phillipa de Boteler (daughter of Sir Richard Boteler of Lancashire). Their son, Sir William Tylden, married Constance daughter of Rodolphus Gannett.
"Willelmus Tyldenne in Tylmanstone," Kent, is listed as one of the Archbishop of Canterbury's tenants in the 20th year of King Edward III (1347) - page 120 of the attached Kent Archaeology report
According to John Tilden's "The Tilden Family OUR ENGLISH ANCESTOR S 1235 - 1635" William de Tydenne (b 1285) "is probably ancestor of the Tyldens of Leeds, Maidstone , Wormshill, Brenchley , Milsted and Broxley , Kent."
