FAMILY
John was the third child of John Spice and Joan Roper , and christened at Thurnham on 9 Feb, 1588/9. He and his wife Elizabeth were married around 1613.
His wife was buried on 23 Oct, 1650, after which John's daughter Ann appears to have taken care of him. (She was 32 at the time of his death, and married two months later.)
John was buried on 5 Sept, 1662. He would have been 73 or 74 and the parish register refers to him as "an old man."

- to "my kinsman Richard Spice, son of my brother William Spice of the Parish of Hollingbourne" his barns and four parcels of ten acres. If Richard Spice dies without heirs, the property to go to Richard's brother John Spice. They are obligated to make payments to the testator's widow for her life.
