1730 - William III

YOUNGER YEARS

William was the oldest son of William Goodhew II and Martha Coleman, and born around 1730. His parents disappeared from parish records after 1736 and at some point young WIlliam moved to Tunstall.

MARRIAGE

William Goodhew of Tunstal married Mary Harndon (c Feb 4 1732 in Bredgar) in Bredgar during 1755.

William & Martha rented small parcels in Bredgar and South Green between 1764 and 1780. William was renting a parcel in Bredgar, on which he owed an assessment of 10 1/2 pence in 1770. (One of the out dwellers was Sir Edward Hales, who paid 4 shillings for a house in town).

In 1780, William Goodhew had land worth 1.10 1/2 in Bredgar. By 1785 they moved into the village and were renting a house from Mary's uncle Stephen Hinds Jr.

  7. Jacob Goodhew (c 1766) married Ann Milgates in 1790. Jacob served as witness at his brother William's wedding in Borden 1791. Ann died in 1793, in 1794

  9. James Goodhew (1769-94)

Mary wife of William Goodhew died in Bredgar, 1794.
