FAMILY MATTERS
Ann Knight gave birth to four sons, but James was the only one to live more than six years. He was christened in Bredgar's parish church 4 Sep, 1649. He was 14 when his mother died. James' father, William Knight, is believed to have obtained possession of Ripple Court Manor in Hollingbourne soon after that. James and his sisters, Anne, Barbara and Sussana would have lived there.
James Knight married Margaret Doe in Hucking on 23 June, 1672. They lived in Hucking for the first years of their marriage, before inheriting the family's lands in Stockbury in 1677.
