John appears to be the oldest son of William and Isodre ("or Izard") Spice and was born abt 1558.
He married Joan Roper in Bearsted 8 Nov 1579.
He was a yeoman who Inherited property and a place called Christmill in Thornham.
John Spice was in Thurnham on 22 Feb 1603/4.

- John Spice of Thornham, Yeoman, to be buried in the Thornham churchyard.Will dated 15 Feb 1603[/4]
- Daughter Elizabeth, legacy to be upon marriage or reaching age 21.
- Wife Joane Spice named as executor. Joane to receive all property until her death at which time everything to be equally divided between all the sons.
- Izard Spice, my mother, to have the use of a room in the present dwelling of Richard Winter.
- Sons Willm Spice, John Spice, Edward Spice, Arthur Spice, Richard Spice. All are under the age of 21.
- Overseers: Brother-in-law George Roper of Bearsted and Henry Coulter "th elder" yeoman of Thurnham. [George is his wife Joan Roper's brother.]
