CHILDHOOD
Ann was the first child of John Bannar and Sarah Quaif, and christened in Stockbury on 25 Aug 1794.
Her mother died when she was 4 and her father when she was 14.
Her uncle Tylden was head of the Bannar family until, his death in 1829. (He was also Stockbury's churchwarden in 1811.)
MARRIAGE
Ann married Thomas Hales at Stockbury on Oct 17 1817. They were both illiterate and left an “X” in place of their name in the parish register.
They named their firstborn after Ann's father John and another son after uncle Tylden.
