FAMILY
Henry s/o Thomas Hales was born in High Halden about 1384.
The fact his son George was born in Luddenham, around 1409, is significant because that parish was (through the Abbot of Faversham) controlled by St Augustine’s Abbey in Canterbury. Henry’s brother John Hales moved to Tenterden, where the parish church was also under St Augustine’s. The Hales family in Canterbury would have strong connections to that same Abbey.
According to Kenneth Glyn Hales's HALES CHRONICLES, Henry sired two sons. George and Gilbert were born in Luddenham parish, Faversham Hundred, about 1409 and 1411 respectively.
George Hales moved to Rumford, Essex, where his son Edward was born about 1434.
I give my reasons for proposing that Henry also sired Thomas att Hale of Ospringe here.
