FAMILY
I suspect that Nicholas was the son of Stephen Doe who purchcased lands in Hollingbourne and Hucking and buried his wife in Bredgar. All three parishes would later be of importance to Nicholas Doe.
He married Elizabeth (Wood?) around 1557. From their children's christening records, we know they were in Bredgar from 1560 to 68, moved to Eastling for a year and then in Hollingbourne until at least 1578. This raises the question of whether their final move to Hucking may be connected to an inheritance received after Stephens death.
After his wife's death, NIcholas' daughter Barbara " Dydd attend to hym & Dwelled with" him.
Nicholas Doe was buried in Hucking during 1601.
