DUeling is highly ritualized expensive and often in fields such as philosophy or science as well as strengths of arms. The code is written so that the cost of dueling is quite high on participants even if they win so that only the truly aggrieved will challenge. Code Dueleo was taken from the Elvin implementation so it is very formalized and there is a year between the challenge and resolution. FOr lesser crimes and infractions there is a magisterial system but the code is used as a field of higher appeal.

Psionics are more common than magic among those of thule blood.

Classical magic is common among Elves.

There is strong mercantile influence in councils in cities but the ultimate authority is still the council and that causes some friction occasionally as the council regulate economic development heavily.

Military is mixed gender all volunteer army. Both men and women serve at all levels. Service is required for anyone seeking political office.

Sexuality

Homosexuality is rare in rural areas but widely accepted in metropolitan areas.
