The party regrouped and debate what to do about the SCIMITAR. The party is spammed with sendings about a dozen topics and after it is sorted out there is no real guidance for what to do about the weapon. First Heronaro runs out to pick up Swiftwind whom is waiting at the plainsmans school. It turns out that all the new construction is due to a group from the colorless lodge moving in with the school for mutual defence and interests. The plains school is no longer Jaas aligned as of that morning. The high priest admits he had been wavering for a while and the tapestry brought by Rufus helped convince him. The head priest confided he felt a bit ostracised when he wasn't consulted about the whole Jaas/Weejas change to the order. Unhappy that things were not working out and with the support of the plainsmen he converted to the high god since it worked better with the plainsmens simple beliefs. About a third of the colorless lodge has relocated to the plains-school and we providing security and helping to grow the community. The buildings outside were for their lodging once they were completed. Guards were already in evidence incase the priesthood took his defection personally. He asked Swiftwind to return his robes of office to Ipsus so he could end the last of his obligations as a follower of Weejas. Back in Ipsus Chandra confesses she was not surprised at the conversion. She explained that occurs with a lot of priests who are removed from the church "executive fast-path". Swiftwind asks Chandra why politics are more important than people to the church of Jaas and the meeting came to an abrupt end as Chandra decided to let the party be handled by acolytes in the future. Powers were definitely interested in interfering with the sword. One attempted to trick Theringil into announcing the party's location by masquerading as a servant of Fharlanghn. Theringil was not fooled and sets up a meeting time later in the day before tellign the group that somethign must be done before something actually finds them. The party decided to dump the sword into the globe of annihilation. While the group prepare to leave there is a knock on their suite door. Loch asks if the party would mind speaking for a minute. Loch describes something of the weapon and asks what the party is thinking about doing. Seeing a bunch of stoney faces he launches into a tale of the swords history and what he sees as the main alternatives. He explains that every major power in the universe felt the weapons destruction and even know a couple were fighting over the Iron fortress. The scimitar was currently safe but only due to its current location. THe group should return the weapon to the angels that guarded it for centuries. Not him but other angels would be happy to take the mantle of guardianship. If they gave a bit to each major god or pantheon it should make it veritably impossible to reassemble. The party sat and listened impressed by Loch's eloquence but since Loch was also known as Morloch former lord of hell the group decided not to let their opinion be swayed. Morloch seemed to regard the current crop of gods with a bit of disdain resenting them for their close and personal connections with the real original power. Loch talked about with the rise of modern gods and goddesses the orignal god had grown silent even for his earliest creations. There is a lot of sadness and a bit of meloncholy to his story but throughout he is civil and offers the party his council if they need him again. The group sit around for a few minutes stunned by the angel's presence and sheer believability but knowing his history as a lord of hell they feel listening to anything he said is too risky. The only safe choice is to ignore everything he said and do what they had come up with a few hours befoe because anything else would risk being swayed to do Morloch's bidding. The party shifts to the outlands and teleport to the fake-gate. It s looked over carefully via magic and a small piece of the sword is tossed into the sphere of annilation that lies in the center of the fake gateway. There is a blast of enery as the two objects collide. the sphere ripples and splashes but the sword is destroyed. Careful observations reveal that the remaining pieces get more evil when a small piece of the sword is destroyed. Also the destruction of a pice sends out shockwaves that undo several of the party's spells. Deciding that it is all or nothing affair the rest of the sword is tossed into a bag and from a safe distance away Theringil tosses the sword into the Sphere. The next few minutes are a bit disjointed. People were blinded and antimater splashed the room. Qualital was hit by a jet of plasma for a hundred something points of damage. The presence of evil did seem to disapate but spells were unravelling madly and the sphere seemed to be unstabe jetting around via gusts of plasma splashing liquid energy and antimatter everywhere it went. The party got out via Theringil and Theringil felt he had help making the spell work. A summary of what the group has pieced together follows: The group suspects there might be a globe of annihilation rocketing around the outlands blasting plasma from one side and splashing antimatter on anything close. If the globe emerges from beneath the ground the outlands might become known as the plain of sudden and unexpected death. The sword appeared to be destroyed but doing so screwed up magic something fierce. It also affected gods in a very noticable way. The council of gods has been dissolved. Word is (from Theringil) they are basically mortal and powerless. This has made religion something of a complex issue. Knowing that things are not quite as they had hoped the party decided to cool their heels in a tiny godforsaken village no one will ever think to look for them in while the whole thing settles down a bit. (As if people will ever get over this one) The group took shelter in the Hamlet of Wall since that is as far from anything powerful or associated with the group as they can get. The group spent their time there readjusting to the changes in the world, while the worst of the manure hits the fan. Luckily for them no one seems to know what happened except the gods and they don't seem to be answering prayers right now. Actually a large number of gods died in the sudden transition from divinity. (Pelor died as he was too old to be housed in a mortal frame) Quote of the night - Morloch - "You mistake evil for maniacal stupidity."
