Determine next run location find out details of spell used by Katie. May 9th 216B Set flame to Cuckoo. Get tasked with retrieving some oak to replace lute. (Do you really want the Cuckoo singing all the time?) Dress Cuckoo up in platemail. (for his protection) Struggles in the woods. Net Trap (with poison thorns) Party Entangled by a flying invisible magic user. Party fights illusions of Elvin archers. Party is then fooled by an illusion of the Horseman. May 10th 216B Large Deadfall trap avoided Barrow reached. Party explores barrow using two invisible barricades. Encounter two wights, but the barricades keep them at bay. Korvath loses a level to a wight. (he was outside the barricades. Party notices traps from previous trip have been reset. While party is inside tomb Mel's cats are attacked and badly mauled. There was little or no warning. The room cats were lurking in had the party's metal spikes removed, so that doorways were once again unblocked. Back with the party a boulder trap is sprung threatening to kill the party. People all get out of the way, but the group is split by sliding walls. Korvath Essandri and Mel are cut off from the others with no way back. Alex Katie and Moge exit the barrow and begin digging others out from outside. Back inside the group takes down a wight, and encounters several more whom disengage rather than fight through a barrier. Once again the party is cut off from retreat. The party skirts or narrowly avoids a dozen traps. Careful planning and quick reflexes keep the group from being split. Mel almost gets trapped by a deadfall in a room with several wights. Party reaches a dead end. While searching, one wall turns out to be animate. Slams Korvath within a breath of his life. the stone elemental 'wall' merges into the surrounding stone taking cover in the native rock. Mel grabs Essandri and drags her past the golumn taking a nasty hit. Korvath tumbles past the creature and opens the door for the others to escape. Outside Alex, Katie, and Moge had been digging into the barrow to free their friends when they were attacked by the horseman. (Alex was targeted) Alex survived the initial onslaught and the horseman was cocooned. Katie's magic forced the horseman out of etherealness and the party was able to destroy the horseman using psionicly amplified weapons and one-use magical bolts. After destroying the horseman him and his horse turned to dust. Reunited but exhausted the party plans their next move. With the horseman vanquished will they still strive to enter his burial grounds, or will they trudge back to town to rest and heal?
