June 16th 216B Party camped out at the longhouse. During the night Mel heard noises outside and upon checking found that giant ants were taking care of the guerillon bodies. Exploring the area, Mel saw a vampiric guerillon leave. As he was returning to the longhouse, Mel met a group of plainsmen, whom he warned about the ants. The plainsmen thanked Mel and went to camp elsewhere. June 17th 216B Mel visits with plainsmen (of a horse tribe) while the rest of the party continues tracking their quarry. Party finds an earth-aspected humanoid corpse with a blue face and an empty vial with traces of poison beside it. At this place the tracks change direction, as if a change of leadership had occurred among the people they are following. Party catch up with their quarry, a group of horse nomads, and camp near a group of wild horses. Alex and Mel go to speak with the nomad leader, Darrel, who acts suspiciously, then orders a flesh golem to attack them. In the events that follow, Darrel gets eviscerated, the golem tripped repeatedly, Moge kissed, the rest of the nomads are mentally stunned at the beginning of combat. In the end the nomads are subdued, and the party liberates some of their treasure and the flesh golem (the woman they had been looking for). Party heads back to the longhouse, to find it occupied by nomads. The party makes a deal to stay the night there, and during the night more nomads show up. After some suspicious behavior from the new arrivals, the party handed them some garlic and tents, but would not let them inside. June 18th 216B Wintermoon, one of the tribesmen camped with the party, appeared to be a mage with abilities to detect supernatural powers. Each of the group outside was revealed to be charmed or dominated. Another of the tribesmen, a druid, and Korvath dispelled most of the domination and charm effects. The remaining thralls were tied up and held under watch by the tribesmen. The tribesmen are impressed with party's actions, and forsight. One of the warriors, Swiftwind, is particulary impressed with Korvath and wishes to learn more about his god. Party returns to Tegholt, and Korvath contacts the mob while the group waits outside town until nightfall. Korvath learns of attack on the mob manor and the city hall by powerful spellcasters, who unleashed fireballs and lightnings in public areas. The mob contact instructs him to bring the golem back after dark. Shortly before nightfall, the party is ambushed by invisible spellcasters, shouting "Death to psions". All hell breaks loose, as the group is pounded repeatedly with spells. Only Alex and Moge were still standing a few seconds later. They made their escape by tunneling out from underneath an impervious wall of force, while the golem was commanded to defend their retreat. Nearby the mob lurking in wait to attack the group of mages, are themselves attacked by several small tornadoes and a handful of fireballs. By the time they have things under control, they find that Korvath is the only one left alive at the scene. Inside the town Alex and Moge take shelter at the Temple of Pelor, of all places, and make arrangements to have Essandri raised and the other bodies recovered. A day passed in fear, the mob fails to restore Mel with a raise spell. Korvath finds Alex and Moge, Essandri is raised and the party begins to lick their wounds. Talking with mob and contacts in the town guard the party learns that the city has hired Janelle, an information specialist, to help gather information related to the Wilders, the group responsible for the attacks. Janelle relates some of the details of who the group seems to be and who their enemies are. She says in a day or two she could find out a lot more about the organization in this city.
