The city - 1PM
Inside the walls are a dam holding back the molten tide of gold which flows through cracks in the wall and lights the city. The air swirls and whirls with negative energy but the light of the molten metal seems to drive it back so it is never closer than 30 feet to the ground and in some places as high as 80 feet.
Gold is molten flesh of elemental lord whose golden form is wreathed in flames that illuminate this realm. The entire city is like an island on the sun being healdaloft in the grasp of a titanic form trapped in the middle of the sun only his hand extending outside it. Can still see fingers holding city.
Necromantic walls now hold back tide of negative energy but go too far up and you are hit with DC 20 bold 8d6 once per 1d4 rounds you are over 30 feet up.
Golden sentinel
A molten blob breaks off of the nearest golden finger and crashes down nearby burning and splashing molten gold around itself as it collects itself. It appears to be a golden humanoid form wreathed in fire..

Giants guard far end where they use awesome blow to knock people off bridge into lava while dragon guards the bridge center
Nory uses trumpet to stun all three.
The elemental lord fails his save and is paralyzed while at least 1/20th of his attackers are able to attempt coup de grace. The realm tilts and plummets into the flames.
Party has one round to get everyone inside the temporal barrier. Another time barrier in this room they can see the slow plummet of the realm into fire while Noriel is stuck fighting the dragon and both giants in incredible slow motion. But from the room nearby they hear the ritual hitting fever pitch.
Chapel of time
Trapped room. Place where Seldions father died.
Passing into breaks timestop revealing vampiric naga lord who casts a spell. Sounds of attack alert the cultists in next room who then prep their short term buffs.
Room is quickly heating up from outside flames. Qimae slays teh archers form next room while Karsa bashes invisible rogue into the pit where he becomes naga bait.

Seldion talks her down from combat then stabs her in the back while hugging her.

Seldion cuts party out of ritual to protect them. Ritual is bad and godhood will change them. It is a curse as well as a source of power. He probmised them a happy ending and sending them home alive is it. He takes domains to make it possible for them to survive and then pulls in replacements from their travels.
Some do not want it, others do not know how to handle it and eventually lose powers
others are fearsomely competent

Seldion - now known as he who doesn’t sleep eventually gets back knowledge and loses protection.
Nory - more old testament than new. Big picture and does not care about the small piicture in terms of mortal time. Served by angels who are working hard to actually do good but they have a quota and are spread very thin.
Walrun - dwarven sea god. Loves the waves and makes the dwarves incredibly stable on ships.
Besmira - Mother of mosters. Reputed to have captured the king of the dwarves whom she holds prisoner under the waters. She is goddess of disasters.
Hergen - god of monsters. Represents fire and strength. Close ally of Besmira and Seldion.

You think it is written in magic but you are not sure since the spellcraft to be sure of that is crazy high.
The scroll describes the general theory of everything. How life can be created, how new schools of magic can be created, agony tolerance souls in torment, distance between planes over time, etc. Almost anything you can think of relevant to Ascension is written about.
The problem is the writer apparently wrote from DC 31 to DC 50 across ALL knowledge skills and assumes laymen knowledge is DC 31 because that was rolling a one for him. But it also may drive you mad as it talks about stuff that is so far beyond what mortals SHOULD know that I am not sure that learning what it contains is safe.
What is an artifact and why creating them makes them indestructable as they are more truth than the universe thought to be reality.
Do you really want to know what a thought is and how to digest them like a thought eater and how you can excrete useless thoughts like pain and boredom into those around you so you can continue thinking on the deeper mysteries?
it covers lichdom in detail as a footnote as one of its basic entries as a safeguard for making spellcasting safe assuming you open a gate to the negative plane so you regenerate at levels at 1/rnd and if things truly go bad you can remanifest in 1-3 days and if necessary create a new demi-plane and start over again.

Created a pathogenic phylactery. Anything of value brought into contact with a piece of the phylactery becomes cursed to return to the main body increasing the phylacteries power.

Tar Baphon planned on death, planned on the hole ripped to negative plane. He chambered the city to act as a phylactery. Negative energy would allow him to resume ritual even in death... something failed.
