(frontier town) - Name comes from "Will be a town". Has survived many disasters including fire, plague, and periodic flooding. City is poorly planned. Inner city wall collapsed recently on Rivergate south resulting in the river flooding nearby parts of Outercity which are still trying to recover.

10 weeks west of Wilton across the great wastes. Scene of ongoing war between Broken-spear hobgoblins and the Orcish horde. Original homeland of Dogsbreath goblin tribe before being driven out by the ongoing war by their supposed allies.
Lands due west for at least a week's journey.
Lands due east of town. uncivilized. Contains remnants of old commune that is now occupied by goblin bandits beseiged by something to which they make offerings of food. Goblins are lead by a Felmage. There is also a vault buried beneath a tree nearby which housed some monstrosity until it escaped and Sulk killed it.
Goblins are downtrodden and live in literal sewers beneath the city.
There is a war between the Broken spear Hobgoblins and the Orcish Horde far to the west but coming closer with time.
Newer goblin tribes are larger and causing problems in the city leading Sulk to become a guardsman as part of an outreach effort.
There is some horrible shape changing monstrosity plaguing the city. It may be the same one they had thought had perished fighting Sulk.
Character races are not as constrained as the character sheets imply.
Don't worry about the rules, worry about the fiction. Describe your actions like you are watching a movie and the rolls will come from the story. But do not roll without permission. Characters have died from triggering unnecessary rolls and generating additional threats when none were needed.
We may replace Bonds / Alignment with Drives. Instead of writing relationships with other players you describe questions, motivations, and or relationships driving your character. These give me goals to explore and also may make it easier to pull in character story bits into the game and will evolve over time. Example a drive that starts as "I am an apprentice Weaponsmith under master smith Derrick Upgood" may become "I will surpass my master to restore our Smithy's honor" and could eventually become "I will learn to create the lost weapons of yore to help save the town from the encroaching Orcish threat"
Friendly with huge personality and a girth to match. Richard has a knack of making friends often by drinking them under the table. He bears an ancient police baton which he found one day as a young child. The club sometimes glows though he has never figured out the reason why. Often assigned to show new guards the ropes due to his welcoming manner and natural gift for exposition.

Hobgoblin mercenary liaison assigned as group protector in case noble implicated on attack on guards tries to tie up loose ends. Hulking figure carrying an immense morning-star. Strong and yet clumsy. Has already managed to items in edwins lab that Edwin had thought we unbreakable. (How does one break a lab counter, anyway?)
Officer died fighting mysterious chaotic beast from vault buried in the forest to the East of city. Goblin barbarian of the Outer Reach Dogbreath tribe. Sent on patrol in the nearby forest as busy work to get Sulk out of the city to avoid an important delegation arriving to meet with political leaders. Party saved Richard's mule from a pack of Ankhegs. In doing so sulk lost his 2-handed sword to an Ankheg's acid attack. After driving off the Ankhegs the party gained 3 XP and found a fancy looking necklace on the corpse of a long dead church inquisitor. The medallion on the necklace feels warm to the touch on a long dead corpse.
The party met Frey a priest of Anansi and fellow guardsman who was preparing to berate a camp of goblin bandits. Richard and Sulk convinced Frey to flee with them given the dual threats of a danger outside the camp was eating goblins. (As seen by the food offerings all around the camp) also there were gnawed bones all around the camp. On departing the party lost Richard's mule after it refused to change path and wandered down into the camp falling prey to the goblins. As they were fleeing Richard's club lit briefly before dimming again.
Party failed to return to town safely. Sulk died facing down an abomination from an ancient vault beneath the chamber in which they were sheltering for the night form the goblin search parties. Frey proved the only party member safe from mental compulsion of the creature the group faced. You still do not know what the creature was, how it was imprisoned, or by whom. Sulk was victorious in killing this ancient horror and managed to drag it down to goblin hell with him.
Richard dug through the slime to recover something of Sulk only to find his metallic headpiece. The slime made him quite sick and Frey had to shelter in place for the night after Richard proved too out of it to travel safely. In the morning the creature form teh vaul's remains were gone and upon returning to town the guard were greeted by a hostile member of the army at the gates. Forced to wait in a long line the group discovered and lost a half-orc shadowblade assassin thanks to Richards billy club wanting the group of the threat. But afterwards the party got in trouble with a well trained military delegation from the Broken spear hobgoblins who saw Richard bearing their stolen war crest. The squad humiliated the party and afterwards the army treated them even worse to the point of confiscating the inquisitor's necklace. While waiting in line Frey befriended an ancient dwarven lady named Maeve Kurshban whom he has since taken under his wing and guided throughout the city. Group learned from her of the Orcish threat approaching as well as that the flooded district was not flooded due to failing infrastructure as was the popular word around town. Richard revealed that it was due to noble families wanting to build a park on the other side of the gate. Upon reporting in at station RIchard was put on leave due to being both sick and addled from his contact with the ichor of the creature Sulk had slayed.
A week later Edwin has been trained. Richard is still out sick. Frey has debriefed with his order and Edwin has collected the necklace confiscated from Richard. But in the process learned that his sister was betrothed to his nemesis Huberick Winehouse. (Whom Edwin always calls Kubrick) On returning with the necklace Edwin is studying the Aetheric emissions and manages to collapse the wave function while cursing Huberick Winehouse under his breath. Distracted he walks into a mugging but manages to electrocute one of the two muggers and chasing the other off. Upon returning to the station Frey and Edwin are sent to Stilton precinct (in flooded district) which is overworked due to the carnival. Flooded district is flooded 3-8 feet deep and has rickety wooden walkways that they party can only travers due to their lack of armor. Once they report to Stilton precinct they find out from Lt. Doyle that there have been a series of disappearances over the last week. They follow Lt Doyle to investigate the site of a body of one of the disappeared and see that there is some dark shape-changing creature flowing through the water beneath the wooden walkways but it gets away before they catch more than a glance. The body was waterlogged but is stiff as a board beneath the outer putrefaction.

Vampire thralls being send en masse to kill of priest of high churches sun god during midsummer festival. Party manages to prevent it but Frey learns that Maeve may not have been who he thinks and has perhaps been a vampire sleeper agent but has been fighting for control and passing him messages in the form of colloquial sayings.
Edwin is attacked by assassins but learns they were sent to capture him via an intermediary. He packages up several goblins and has them dropped off in the warehouse in his place to learn who is behind the plot. Vampire fight in temple of sungod. Edwin gets possessed by Richards weapon which still houses the spirit of the departed. RIchard fights a vampire spirit and puts out fire of sun in guard house coffee.
Conclusion to vampire time loop paradox where Richard was killed/sent back in time as a ghost. Frey learned of the paradox and was able to navigate the conflicting realities. Managed to free Maeve from control and called on his god to repair the lantern of the sun that was destroyed fighting the vampires. Richard was brought back to life along with the prisoners from the guard that had been forced into ghost form to escape the fire.
Richard and Frey return to the lab to look for Edwin. They are jumped by a group of thugs but it quickly becomes evident that they are far too well trained and equipped to be thugs. Turns out they are an entire platoon of soldiers and once the cover is blown they try to kill Richard and Frey. Frey summons help and exposes the army but the rogue platoon kills off Frey before being driven off by Edwin (possessed by Richard's spirit and weapon) and the guard. Edwin captures many prisoners after making their gear too heavy to carry pinning the army forces down. Richard was badly wounded in the fight.
In the aftermath of teh attack there was a huge inquisition and no one was spared. The army was suspended and units question before being allowed back to work. In meantime hobgoblin mercenaries stepped in to run city guard posts during Inquisition. Everyone associated was questioned. Richard was questioned for 3 days using truth compulsion and lost the impounded vampire gold that he had "seized as evidence". Both the army in Fort Tahaco and priests in the church or Tyr have been getting a thorough inquisition and many have been imprisoned. Though it appears that the Noble family behind the army’s action escaped. His middleman was executed and his agent that worked in the Kwallish’s warehouse where wichare was to be sent was eaten by three goblins in a trench-coat. There are still questions of what happened with Richards club. Richard no longer has a bond with it but Edwin says he feels nothing from it.
