Elves are no longer the fey wood dwellers of legend, These days they live in small enclaves in human cities. They can be thought of like Jewish enclaves a century ago. Small well educated enclaves that generally stay to themselves. They have no homeland, they socialize among themselves, mainly consume elven products despite living in human cities that offer many cheaper alternatives. Elves have records of magic dating back to before its fade and return so their elders advice is highly sought after.
Elves mainly shun human company socializing closely with mortals leads towards depression. Watching generations of humans die makes even the cheeriest elf morose. Depression leading toward suicide is not uncommon among elves that socialize too closely with humans for too long. So they are a very private people fairly separate from human culture despite living in the midst of humans.
Loss of the elven homeland
The ebb of magic and its chaotic return made much of the Elven homelands completely inhabitable. The elven homelands were so richly infused with magic that they are just overwhelmed with taint.
True Elves
True elves were created as watchers by the titans. Their nature and altered time sense gave them a very passive role in the world. Always vigilant but rarely participating in world events. In this context their role in creating Lothia was remarkable. In the year 219 after breaking true elves are believed to have migrated en-mass to the far lands leaving only those of mixed blood behind.
Elves (modern)
Left behind by the true elves during their migration, what we call elves today have only a small amount of fae blood. Many assume the haughty demeanor of their true elven brethren while other have become wild woodland spirits or essentially effeminate humans. Elves are quite rare since true elves rarely produced offspring with the other races, but some do exist and now that the true elves are gone these are known as Elvin people and are struggling to form an identify of their own.
Appearence - Skin is very light. Ears are lightly pointed. Hair is light colored white, blond, silver, golden. Bodies and faces are slender and effeminent. Facial hair is rare on males.
