Last time the party was employed to escort goods from Hobotten to Phandelver by Gundrin Rockseeker. The party escorted their charge Gundrin Rockseeker from the latest of a series of shopping expeditions where his latest purchase was barrels of salted fish, stack of cheeses and some halfling pipe weed from shire. The wagon was already half full of barrels of apples and Gungrin was talking about heading out in 1 or two more days when this ambush happened. A group of Human First reactionaries attempted to kidnap their charge leading to a big fight where Ursa and Burden really cut loose.
Burden releasing a spirit which took form using the cobblestones of the street and Bludo scared the bandits when he convinced them there was a real giant in the wagon. "Who dares fight Bludo the Giant!" Ursa use mountain lion to chase down the fleeing bandits and teh cobblestone spirit bowled right into the main group sending them scattering in all directions. Some fleeing right back towards Rosie and Abe. Abe was cornered by a goon who attempted to gut him but Bludo threw his knife and gutted the rogue instead. But then the crashing fighting down the street caused the store awning to collapse on the rear half of the party and in the chaos a hungry spirit went after Abe who had lost his amulet of protection to the fast fingered Bludo. Abe dodged and weaved avoiding the spirit long enough for Ursa to charge back to the rescue but claws proved little use on the blood spirit and it soon turned it's eyes to possessing Ursa in her cat form. Possessing her it then began to stalk Gundrin Rockseeker.
Rosie saw the possession and used her voice to drive the spirit out of Ursa saving Gundrin. Then the group quickly dispatched the Spirit and fled the city before the guard could come ask questions about the destroyed store fronts. Players reached second level and headed out to escort the good back to the Lions Head Inn back in the town of Phandalin.
