The great lie of the father of lies being propagated through The Da Vinci Code exposed

Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code who claims to have unveiled an astonishing truth concealed for centuries through “a mind-bending code” has ended up his search for the truth in a chapel, called Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland which has turned out to be “a shrine to all faiths …to all traditions and above all, to nature and the goddess….”. In the ultimate analysis, Dan Brown says that the so-called Holy Grail, symbolic of the mortal remains of Mary Magdalene, secretly known by many pseudonyms in face of the hostility by the early Church such as the Chalice, the Holy Grail, the Rose with the womb of the goddess (an anagram of Eros, the Greek god of sexual love) who was married to the Jesus of this book, “is no longer there”. According to him, the keystone that is supposed to point to the place where the Holy Grail is hidden now. It is still hidden from the eyes of the author. To this day, according to the author, the Rosslyn Trust offered a generous reward to any one who could unveil the secret meaning of the code on the ceiling in this chapel but the “code remained a mystery”. To our great surmise, he says, “there is nothing in the Priory doctrine that identifies a date at which the Holy Grail should be unveiled. In fact the Priory has always maintained that the Grail should never be unveiled”.

According to this story, one Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon while in Paris on business received an urgent late-night phone call that informed that the elderly curator of the Louvre museum in Paris was murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, after sorting through the bizarre riddles, were “stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci”.

The investigation of Langdon was mainly based on the deciphering of certain works of Priory of Sion, an actual secret society of consisting of Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo and Da Vinci. Four top members of this secret society including Jacques Sauniere, a curator were murdered at the behest of those who were opposed to the “revelations” made by this society.

According to the investigation carried out by Langdon (who was an imaginary person of Dan Brown), four chests of documents known as Sangreal documents were discovered by the Knights Templar under the Solomon’s Temple. We should know something about the Knights Templar here. They are known as a sect that worshipped the pagan god, especially, Baphomet, a pagan fertility god associated with the creative force of reproduction. According to the history, the Catholic Church during the Inquisition persecuted the Knights Templar for their pagan worship.

According to this book, the Sangreal documents tell the truth about Mary Magdalene. Mary Magdalene who was married to the Jesus of this book, was pregnant at the time of crucifixion. For the safety of Christ’s unborn child, she had no choice but to flee the Holy Land. With the help of Jesus’ trusted uncle, Joseph of Arimathea, Mary secretly traveled to France, then known as Gaul. There she found safe refuge in the Jewish community. It was here in France that she gave birth to a daughter named Sarah. According to the Sangreal documents, there existed some writings in the hand of Jesus and the gospel of Mary Magdalene. In this regard, please read the passage under the title “Sangreal documents”

Dead Sea Scrolls

According to this book, the Dead Sea Scrolls along with the Nag Hammadi documents are the earliest Christian records whereas, according to the History, the Dead Sea Scrolls are purely Jewish documents; there is nothing Christian about them. There is also no evidence any of the Nag Hammadi documents that existed before the late second century A.D., with the possible exception of the Gospel of Thomas.

Alleged manipulation of the gospels by the King Constantine

Another disclosure made in this book is that King Constantine manipulated the original versions of the gospels so as to delete that portion that spoke about the marriage of Jesus with Mary Magdalene.

The works of Leonard Da Vinci were from 1510 to 1519. But the gospels and the other New Testament books were written in the first century. The integrity of the four gospels has been thoroughly tested by the historians over the period of about 2000 years. It has been preserved till this date. If Jesus had been married to Mary Magdalene, the same could have been included by the authors of the four gospels because marriage was not considered a sin in the Old Testament laws.

Constantine ruled A.D. 274 – 337. Constantine put an end to the persecution of Christians who were persecuted under Diocletian and the old Roman religion. There is no evidence to prove that King Constantine manipulated the original gospels during his reign. First, there was no “new” Bible commissioned by Constantine. The emperor simply requested that Eusebius (the Bishop of Carthage) make fifty copies of the already existing and widely accepted scriptures. Second, no evidence suggests that Constantine or anyone else “embellished” Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Third, there were no gospels burned by Constantine. Although some texts written by Arius were burned, none of them were gospels. Fourth, there were no gospels “earlier” than Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Finally, as previously noted, the gospels in our Bible clearly depict Christ’s “human traits,” which is consistent with the Christian teaching that Jesus was 100% deity as well as 100% human.

Views of Leonardo Da Vinci on Bible

According to the author of this book, Leonardo Da Vinci made the following comments about the New Testament:

1) “Many have made a trade of delusions and false miracles, deceiving the stupid multitude”; and

2) “Blinding ignorance does mislead us. O! Wretched mortals, open your eyes” (p. 231).

These remarks have nothing to do with Leonardo’s views on scripture. His first comment, in context, is about alchemists who claimed that they could change lead into gold. His second comment, in context, refers to the foolishness of what he called men’s “own opinions,” “lascivious joys,” and “vain splendor.” Brown completely misrepresented Leonardo’s writings to make it seem as if the great artist detested the Bible.

Integrity of the Bible

According to this book, “The Bible, as we know it today, was collated by the pagan Roman Emperor Constantine” (p. 231).

According to the recorded history, the Bible was not collated by Constantine, who died in 337 A.D. The Old Testament existed prior to even Jesus’ day. And the New Testament, although it started coming together by the end of the first century (about 90-100 A.D.), was not formalized until about 393-397 A.D. (after Constantine’s death).

Council of Nicaea

According to this book, Jesus is a great man or prophet in the earliest historical sources but was later proclaimed divine at the Council of Nicaea. But according to the Bile, Jesus is called “God” (theos) 7 times in the New Testament. He is called “Lord” (kyrios) in the divine sense numerous times. No serious historian argues that these texts postdate the Council of Nicaea.

Earthly aspects of Jesus

According to this book, “Any gospels that described earthly aspects of Jesus’ life had to be omitted from the Bible” (p. 244). But the Bible reveals, “The gospels in our New Testament present many “earthly aspects” of Christ’s life such as his physical frailties (hunger, fatigue, death); emotions (anguish, outrage, love); and relational interactions (with his mother, friends, and followers).

Astrological prophecy

This book propagates the pagan doctrines of astrology, especially astrological prophecy which has nothing to do with the Bible Prophecy. It speaks about the Age of Aquarius – the water bearer whose ideals claim that man will learn the truth and be able to think for himself. This age will be followed by the End of Days.

Jehovah, the sacred Name of God in Hebrew twisted

According to this book, early Jews believed that the Holy of Holies in Solomon’s Temple housed not only God but also His powerful female equal, Shekinath. “The Jewish Tetragrammaton YHWH—the sacred name for God—in fact derived from Jehovah, an androgynous physical union between the masculine Jah and the pre-Hebraic name for Eve, Havah (p. 309).

Man seeking spiritual wholeness came to the Temple to visit priestesses with whom they made love and experienced the divine through physical union. Mankind’s use of sex to commune directly with God posed a threat to the Catholic power base. Many secret societies around the world still practice sex rites and keep the ancient tradition alive. “The next time, you find yourself with a woman, look in your heart and see if you cannot approach sex as a mystical, spiritual act. Challenge yourself to find that spark of divinity that man can only achieve through union with the sacred feminine”. These false doctrines advocating fornication and adultery are not of the Bible but come from the pit of the hell directly.

The marriage bed is treasured and honored as pure (Heb. 13:4). Sexual activities and pleasure are normal, expected, and encouraged within a marriage. Sexual union is a divine moment for a husband and a wife -- a representation of the image of God that defines us. God established boundaries around sex to protect it and maximize its joy.

YHWH was not derived from “JEHOVAH.” The term actually predates “JEHOVAH” by thousands of years. Brown, in fact, has it backwards—i.e., “JEHOVAH” was derived from YHWH. It is merely the sixteenth century Latinized form of YHWH with “a,” “o” and “a” (the vowels from adonai, “my Lord”) inserted between each consonant (Latinizing the word changed the “Y” and “W” to “J” and “V.”). As for the word Havah, there is nothing “pre-Hebraic” about it. This is simply “Eve” in Hebrew and it appears in the Old Testament.

About the perverted sex and adultery, this book says as follows:

“Historically, intercourse, was the act through which male and female experienced God. Physical union with the female remained the sole means through which man could become spiritually complete and ultimately achieve “gnosis” – knowledge of the divine. By communion with woman, man could achieve a climatic instant when his mind went totally blank and he could see God.

This doctrine is akin to the doctrine of Hinduism where Shiva viewed as the male god unites himself with his wife, Shakti through the power of sex. In the Hindu Temple, the reproductive organ of Shiva is worshipped by the Hindu devotees as “Shiv Lingam”.

Many Hindu god men believe in sexual union with their female devotees as an act of divine worship.

This book thus propagates the doctrine of Nirvana, a doctrine of Hinduism, which believes in a never ending spiritual orgasm.

This book further describes sex as follows:

“Sex begot new life – the ultimate miracle which could be performed only by a god. The ability of the woman to produce life from her woman made her sacred”.

About Mona Lisa

According to this book, Leonardo’s worship of the goddess and the feminine can be seen in his Mona Lisa painting. That name comes from two Egyptian deities: the god Amon and the goddess Isis, whose “ancient pictogram was once called L’ISA. The title Mona Lisa, then, is really “an anagram of the divine union of male and female (p. 121).

But, according to History, Leonardao Da Vinci did not even name this particular painting. None of his works, in fact, were titled by him. The Mona Lisa was catalogued by author Giorgio Vasari in his book Lives of the Artists (1550). It was he who first called it the Mona Lisa, which in English was shortened to Mona Lisa. It simply means Madame Lisa, and refers to the likely subject: Lisa Gherardini del Giocondo, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo. *

Search for “the truth” in this book

In this book, a search for the truth i.e. marriage of Jesus with Mary Magdalene was made through the cathedrals and churches all over France and hundreds of archways beneath rose windows were examined. But the truth has still eluded the author and the investigators. Jesus is the Truth, Way and Life. It is through the Holy Spirit that we know the Truth, and not through the perishable buildings or the arts of the perverted human mind.

According to them, the truth is hidden in an encrypted keystone “La clef de voute” beneath the sign of the Rose. They key to finding the Holy Grail lies inside this tone. God will never keep any key to the truth in a place which is inaccessible to the people. It is not the work of the Holy Spirit but the work of the devil who wants to keep the people in a bondage through this book.

The quest for the Holy Grail

The author ends this book with an exhortation to look for the quest for the Holy Grail. “The quest for the Holy Grail is the quest to kneel before the bones of Mary Magdalene – a journey to pray at the feet of the outcast one”. The books ends with an exhortation to idolatry, apart from an exhortation to enjoy illegal and unscriptural sex.

The failed mission of the Da Vinci Code is to:

Prove that Christ has a surviving blood line and is a mortal prophet. This great lie attempted to falsify the truth of the gospel about the birth of the spiritual children of God through His Blood.

According to this book, “The royal bloodline of Jesus Christ has been chronicled in exhaustive detail by scores of historians” (p. 253). But the facts in history say as follows:

Following this comment about “historians,” Dan Brown lists four books written by various authors: Margaret Starbird, Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln, Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince. But none of them are historians. Starbird has an M.A. in comparative literature and German. Baigent holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and is pursuing an M.A. in mysticism. Leigh is a novelist and short story writer. Lincoln gained notoriety as a BBC television personality and scriptwriter. And Picknett, along with Prince, is involved in occultism, the paranormal, and UFO studies.

“Sangreal documents:

According to Dan Brown's character Robert Langdon, the Sangreal Documents were documents the Knights Templar excavated from under the ruins of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem in the twelfth century (The Da Vinci Code, Chapter 37, p. 157 - 161). The contents of these documents were supposedly so threatening to the authority of the Roman Catholic Church that the Knights Templar were able to blackmail the Church into giving them tremendous power and wealth. However, on Friday, October 13, 1307, Pope Clement implemented a covert operation to round up, torture and execute all of the Knights Templar. However, the knights hid the documents in a new location before Popes forces captured and executed them. Only the secret society known as the Priory of Sion knows where they hid them. In addition, the Sangreal Documents, according to Brown contain the Magdalene Diaries and the Purist Documents. He does not elaborate on these very much.

The origin of the idea:

Sangreal is a compound of San Greal (or Graal), which translated, means Holy Grail. That in and of itself does not pose a problem. That is the normal, historical meaning in the medieval legends. What does pose a problem is the possibility of it meaning something else as well. Why were these documents supposed to be so threatening to the Church? Brown as it turns out is promoting a theory argued by Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln in their best-selling book Holy Blood, Holy Grail. They point out that one can also divide Sangreal to make sang real (raal), which translated, means royal blood. If so, this would give a clue as to the contents of the Sangreal Documents. These authors, including Dan Brown, claim that the Sangreal Documents tell a more complete story than the New Testament Gospels and the Church has told--namely that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a child, thereby continuing his royal bloodline. The reason this would threaten the Church is that Jesus fathering a child would somehow prove that He was not divine which the Church says He is. The Church says it derives its power from a divine Jesus in Heaven not a dead man. If this is all true the Church and its authority is built on a lie-and that is the suggestion Dan Brown tries to make with his book.

For those who for one reason or another hope the Church and its traditional views and authority would crumble like a house of cards if the truth is discovered it is tempting to believe that the Sangreal Documents or ones like them actually exist. Dan Brown is not the first to write them into a novel. He seems to have actually stolen the idea from novelist Lewis Perdue who wrote The Da Vinci Legacy. Perdue came up with the name Da Vinci Documents. In another novel, Daughter of God, Perdue calls them the Sophia Documents. Brown invented the term Magdalene Diaries. Do the Sangreal Documents exist?

What should we make of all this? Do the Sangreal Documents or documents like them really exist and if they do, could they possibly tell us that Jesus and Mary had a child? If they did have a child, would this mean that Jesus could not have been more than a mere man-leaving the Church without authority from above to tell people how to live their lives and find spirituality?

At this point, we must be perfectly clear: the Sangreal Documents, the Magdalene Diaries, the Purist Documents and any like them documenting a bloodline of Jesus and Mary do not really exist. No historically reliable documents exist by any name or by any author which tell of Jesus and Mary Magdalene having children. Dan Brown, inspired by Lewis Perdue made them up or at least made up the name based on Baigent's, Leigh's, and Lincoln's spurious theory. Again, it must be emphasized any document like these by any name well as the very idea of such documents is purely fiction. Now, fiction writers have the right to make up people, places and objects for their literary purposes, and unfortunately, some readers will believe they are real. I cannot help the person who just has to believe the Sangreal Documents are real, but it is my goal in this article to help the person who simply wants to know the truth.

Do similar documents exist?

Although the Sangreal Documents and other similar ones do not actually exist, is it possible that a real-life Robert Langdon could find something like them--specifially, documents that claim Jesus and Mary had a child together. There is good reason to conclude it is not very possible. Dan Brown's argument for Jesus and Mary having a child is full of fallicies. In other words, there is really no good reason, based on the best of historical research, to believe that any documents like them would exist-at least authentic ones that tell the truth. If a real-life Robert Langdon discovers a set of documents that say what Brown and others like Lewis Perdue say they would say, we would know the author forged them. It would be easy to spot the falsehood.

Now, some would say to this, "But of course the history books were written by those who would cover up the truth to secure their own power. Therefore, we cannot know the truth from the usual sources. The truth has to come from unusual sources-ones that have been kept hidden from the authorities." As with all conspiracy theories, there is enough truth to make the theory sound at least plausible. After all, the Roman Catholic Church covered up the misdeeds of priests who were pedophiles. They certainly did and were wrong to do so, but that is a very different kind of problem. In order to discover the truth about Jesus and Mary we are not dealing with the modern Roman Catholic Church and its problems. We are not dealing with the problems of the Roman Catholic Church during the Crusades, Middle Ages and the Inquisition. We are not even dealing with the leaders and writings of the Church of the second and third centuries--before Christianity was adopted as the state religion of the Roman Empire (and took a very bad turn). We are dealing with the very first, eyewitness followers of Jesus and what they preserved and why they preserved it. They vigorously passed on what Jesus said and did and worked hard to protect it from distortion by those who wanted to usurp Jesus' message for their own gain. The New Testament documents (written in the first century) tell this plainly, accurately and passionately.

Conclusion

At the heart of the matter lies the question, do the New Testament Gospels give us an accurate picture of what Jesus said and did or not? If not, then humanity followed lies for the past nearly 2000 years and we have every reason to look for the truth from other sources. However, if they are the most accurate and most reliable historical records available and there is every good reason to believe they tell us the truth, then any other documents will lead us away from the truth. False documents like the Sangreal Documents, if produced, would only lead us away from the truth. We have no good reason for believing in the alternative history Dan Brown created or stole from others who made it up. It is beyond the scope and purpose of this article to explain the good reasons we have for believing the New Testament Gospels are reliable records of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
