Apple and Pear Crisp

4 Pears, peeled, cored and cut into chunks

4-6 Apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks

3/4 c. Dried Cranberries

2 tsp. Lemon Zest

3 T. fresh Lemon juice

1/2 c. sugar

1/4 c. flour

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

For the topping:

1 1/2 c. flour

3/4 c. sugar

3/4 c. lightly packed brown sugar

1/2 tsp. kosher salt

1 c. old fashioned oats

2 sticks of cold butter, cut into small chunks

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, toss the apples, pears, cranberries, zest, juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir to coat well.

Place in a 9 X 11 Baking dish.

In a medium bowl (actually, I use the same bowl), Mix the flour, sugars, salt and oats.

Add the butter and cut into the mixture with a fork until the butter is small and crumbly.

Spread mix evenly on top of fruit.

Bake for 50-60 minutes until brown and the fruit is bubbly.

Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
