Roast with Onion Gravy
What you need:
- 3 to 4 lb. beef roast or pork loin
- Salt and pepper
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 3 cups water
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions:
- Season beef or pork with salt and pepper. Then place in a metal roasting pan and place in a preheated 450 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mostly dissolve onion soup mix with 3 cups of water. After roast has baked for 15 minutes, pour the water into the bottom of the pan.
- Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for about 2 hours, basting every half hour. Add more water if needed.
- While the finished roast rests, take the liquid leftover from the bottom of the pan and transfer to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and add more water to achieve the amount of gravy you want to have.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water. Add to gravy and stir until thickened.
- Serve roast with gravy.
