Korean Steak BBQ Bowls

What you need:

For the spicy marinade:

    • 2/3 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup mirin
    • 1 tsp. ground ginger
    • 1 Tbsp. canola oil
    • 2 to 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
    • 1 to 2 Tbsp. spicy chili paste
    • 5 cloves garlic

For the steak bowls:

    • 1 lb. top sirloin steak, cut into very thin pieces
    • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
    • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into strips
    • 2 handfuls of spinach or more
    • Wonton strips, for garnish
    • Scallions or green onions, for garnish

Directions:

    1. Place all marinade ingredients in food processor and pulse until smooth.
    2. Place steak in a large plastic baggie and pour enough marinade to cover the steak. Reserve the rest for serving. Refrigerate steak for 1 to 2 hours.
    3. When ready, heat a heavy pan over high heat. Drain off excess marinade from steak and then add steak to pan (with oil, if needed).
    4. Cook steak until desired doneness. I did mine about 1 to 2 minutes on each side. It was thin, so it cooked quickly.
    5. Let steak rest for a few minutes, then toss it with veggies and more dressing (if desired).
    6. Top with wontons and scallions and serve.
