Artist Statement:
This drawing is of a tiger cub riding a large snake. To make this drawing I used a pencil to sketch it out. I used references to see what a tiger cub and the trees would look like. After this I used a ballpoint pen to emphasize the lines and colored pencil to finish the drawing. I chose this particular drawing because it would meet the requirements of the whatchamaDRAWIT card and it would be fun and good practice to draw. I used line and shape to show the form of the tiger, snake, trees, and mountains. I used color, value, and texture to emphasis the shapes and to make the drawing look 3d. If I could re-do this piece I would make some of the lines neater. I used thick lines and bright color to make the drawing look cartoonish. I felt this was necessary because adding a snake and a tiger cub might give the idea that the tiger cub was in danger, while this piece is supposed to be cute because the snake and tiger cub are friends. I wish I did not add so many highlights in the tiger cub's eyes. I wish I made the horizon with a ruler.
