We Can Do It!

The idea behind this artwork is that I'm using a well known propaganda poster to show how we can all come together to reduce the impact of coronavirus. I used the red handkerchief with white spots instead as a mask, and I gave her a face shield. I kept in line with the color scheme of the original, but I also added text with messages like "stay inside" and "wash your hands" and "sew masks". I wanted to show how much individuals can do to help. My project relates to my life because I'm trying to do many of those things myself, and I would like to encourage others to help as well.

I made this using ProCreate using what is currently my favorite brush. It's textural, and it creates new, more saturated colors when layered, which helped especially when making a highly saturated, high contrast drawing.

I used color to emphasis the character. I made use of the pattern on the handkerchief for the mask. My project originally wasn't going to include text other than "we can do it!" but I decided that it would work well to add text showing many of the things individuals can do to help.
