Sustained Investigation #11

In this drawing, there are numerous baked goods. There are giant cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, pies, gingerbread, donuts, cupcakes, churros, and mergangues. All of the colors are bright or pastel colors. Even the shadows are a bright purple color. The character is standing on a cake, and the character is casting a shadow. I have been working with a new process for drawing, and working on color palettes. In this piece, the colors are cohesive, and I feel like I was successful in achieving a piece that does not look fragmented.

I used procreate with a custom brush I made.

I sketched out my ideas, blocked in color, added detail, and added sprinkles to the printout. I used color to emphasise the character, and I used value and color to show depth. Although I'm happy with the artwork so far, I wish that I hadn't added the rainbow sprinkles or the sparkly purple sprinkles because they alter the color scheme such that it doesn't go together.
