This is the fourth year I've done the beautiful oops, but this might be my least favorite. I wasn't able to do a good job integrating the splotch, I got her proportions wrong, and I couldn't figure out the lighting. I wanted to use the same fragmented shapes that made up the splotch to create harsh lighting and shading in the face. This relates to my life because I wanted to practice with only black and white pen tools.

I made this using procreate.

I wanted to use line and shape to create value, form, and texture. However, I wasn't able to do it well enough. This project started as the bottom picture, but I tried to add a 50% opacity layer to show the lighting better, however, I don't think it worked well enough. For next steps, I might want to completely redo this drawing, since I want to be able to show the improvement I've made in the past 3 years of art classes. Otherwise, I could adjust the shading so it's more subtle.
