Donate Life

The subject of my creation is four ancient egyptian containers, which were used for storing organs. The background has a little texture, shadows, and hearts. The text reads "Don't bottle up opportunity" and "save lives with organ and tissue donation." I made this using the drawing program, Krita. In this drawing, I used line to show shape, value and shape to show form and texture. Contrast to emphasis the focus.

I used formal balance of focuses. I used sharp focus on the foreground and letters and soft focus on the background. I used a low horizon line. My project started out as a sketch. Then, I added thick lines. After that, I colored in the shapes with bright reds and blues. This gave me the ability to select certain sections to work with. Then I shaded in the colors in black and white. After that, I added text and a background.

The meaning behind this drawing is that people should not waste the opportunity to save a life. This is connected to egypt because ancient egyptians buried away their organs inside jars. There are many things I would like to add before I submit this to the donate life contest:

• Blue sky to add color variation
• Sand dunes
• Neater text
• Better color than black for text
• Egyptian rune patterns
• Consistent shading
• Avoid merging layers when I will need to access them later
• Blurred background
• Less black shading
