3 zoom shoe

The subject of my creation is 3 replicas of lines on my shoe drawings. Each of these get increasingly small from one side to the other. I made this by dividing my piece and my reference into 16ths. Then, I went in with a H4 pencil and copied each box over individually. After I finished this, I colored it in with pen and erased the pencil lines. I chose to replicate this specific section because it had lots of lines in the rectangle (the viewfinder). Another reason why I picked this particular section is the variation in the line weight. In this particular piece I did not have much control over what elements of design I could use. In the previous piece that this was based on I used line to show shape and form, but I decided not to go into detail with the texture.

I created this particular section of the shoe with an idea about sunbeams for the next piece, but I ended up painting a leave with the most zoomed view. Another reason I chose this is the complexity of this piece. There was a lot of lines and very varied line weight. Doing this hopefully improved my replication skills. If I could do this again I would pay more attention to the first zoom because when I looked back it made the later drawings more inaccurate because I was starting with an imperfect reference.
