The story behind this drawing was initially about how humanity's collective memory is imperfect. However, when I added more, I created a new meaning that is how changes in the environment cause important pieces of culture to go missing and change. The clouds are wrapping around the character. This relates to me because I wanted to try to mix the lineart with a style of drawing I'm more used to (shading using a specific brush).

I made this on my tablet with procreate.

I used line to create shape. I used color and value to create form and texture. My project started as a drawing of the character with simple flat shading and line art. Then, I expanded the composition to include a larger picture. I finished the character, created a background, added the smog going in front of the character. Finally, I added additional color and shading to increase contrast. Next steps might be to clean up the drawing so that it is more cohesive (I used several different styles of drawing throughout it).
