So proud of our Culinary Arts Dual Credit 1 students!
In February, our students had the exciting opportunity to tour the NBC 6 / FOX 33 studio, where they were interviewed about their FCCLA community service project supporting Brother Bill’s Helping Hand in Dallas. They did an amazing job representing Liberty-Eylau and sharing how service learning can make a real impact.
Their project encourages our community to donate diapers, hygiene items, dry and canned foods, and medical supplies to help Brother Bill’s Helping Hand continue providing food, healthcare, education, and community programs that uplift and empower local families.

Thank you for supporting our students as they lead with compassion, purpose, and heart. Let’s show up for our community!

Dual Credit students recently met with Mallory of the Texarkana Gazette to share how FCCLA empowers young leaders to serve with purpose and impact through community service. Through hands-on initiatives, students are learning that leadership extends beyond the classroom and into the communities they serve.
Students are currently leading the Shoes for Success Campaign, collecting gently used shoes with an ambitious goal of 2,500 pairs by March 9. Each donation represents comfort, dignity, and hope for someone in need. In addition, students are participating in the FCCLA Region 3 Service Project, benefiting Brother Bill’s Helping Hands in Dallas, Texas—an organization dedicated to meeting critical needs for families and individuals.
Both service efforts have expanded district- and city-wide, reflecting the students’ commitment to making a meaningful difference. During the meeting, students also proudly shared their planning and preparation process for their upcoming FCCLA STAR Events, where they will showcase their skills, teamwork, and leadership at competition in Waco, Texas, on Friday, February 6.
Through FCCLA, these students are not only preparing for competition—but building compassion, confidence, and a lifelong dedication to service.
“Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes, and cooking. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment, and creativity.”

On March 4th, LEISD hosted its Annual Community Breakfast at the Middle School—such an uplifting time celebrating the heart of our district: the people who serve it so well. And of course, when called, the LE Culinary Arts team was there to help serve. No questions asked… we show up!
I was deeply humbled to receive a prestigious community award for 2026:
C.K. Bender Educational Leadership Award
I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude that someone recognized the hard work, dedication, and service I’ve poured into education for the past 15 years—11 of those with Liberty-Eylau ISD.
The kind words spoken by Ms. Jackson brought tears to my eyes. There are times when I’ve felt overlooked, but God reminded me in that moment: “My child, I see you. Continue the work I’ve called you to do.”
So today, I’m walking proudly in my anointing and purpose—grateful, humbled, and motivated to keep serving our students and community.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the work we do.
